This isn't going well...just noticed one of the skirt buckles came unstitched. Still waiting for clear enough weather to open the tent and try removing the stains. I've been in contact with CVT and of course it should be covered under warranty although who's dime if I have to take it to the store for work to be done?

I installed some lights in my CVT Mt. St. Helens tent earlier this week.

I bought some underbody LED tubes from LEDglow and hung them from the D-rings on the inside of the roof. Wiring was really simple because they all daisy-chain together. Small 12v battery and I'm all set!

I just picked up an IKamper Mini 2 and have been looking into upgrades. What would you guys recommend for a mattress replacement?I'm 6'2" and weigh about 220 so the 2" or 3" mattress is ok but by morning I'm sleeping on the hard bottom. I saw IKampers new air/foam mattress but its pretty pricey. Just looking for options and any other recommendations!

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
The exped options are really popular. Time inflation time but we’ll worth it in terms of comfort.

    Not much stock left.
I would recommend the Stoic Double Camp Bed. It’s substantially cheaper than Exped, and super comfy.

I will check them out, exped seems to be all over the place but that price is steep.

No mods or issues, just a couple pics of camping this last weekend in Los Padres National Forest, near ventura/santa barbara.

Anybody know off hand if a 2" memory foam mattress topper will fold up with most tents? Have a Smittybilt. 3" topper almost latches but is pretty tight. I usually just take it in and out when in use. If the topper tri folded instead of folding over it would latch easily.

I had a 3" foam mattress in my old FRS tent; that on top of the factory 1-inch pad. It was a beyotch to fold up. I had to use a Come-Along to pull it closed.

In my tepui, with the stock foam mattress and a 1.5" topper it wasn't too terrible to close but that wasn't with any bedding in there.

With my self-inflating exped mattress and 1.5" topper, I can leave all of my bedding in there and it still closes really easily.

Exped ftw. I keep the self inflating Exped and all bedding in the Super Pacific.

That would definitely solve my problem but I'm really cheap and would rather pay $50 for a topper over a $400 one.

I hear ya. I will say though, after having both memory foam mattress + topper for years, and now the Exped, the Exped is a game changer..

I havent yet. I have a few blankets and sheets up there now, so I wanted to keep it thin to close up. So nice popping up the camper, opening the inflate valve while getting the rest of camp set up, and by the time you're ready to crawl in, its filled. I use a small USB pump to really get it firmed up if I want.
