Motivx tools has a filter drain doodad that supposedly makes removing the filter housing essentially mess free as well.

I imagine that will pull anything you will ever have! Good find.

2011 with only 85k miles on the 6.7. May keep, may flip. Got it for a sweet deal (As long as surprises don’t mount).

6.7 is a good motor but my God it's bad to work on. Watched some friends pull a transmission just to fix a leaky oil pan.

Fumoto on second vehicle. I like it. Japan made, if it matters.
I like it. easier to do the oil change.
Con it might not get all oil out. If you care about that.

ive had a Fumoto on mine for 70k miles, a lot of which have been hard off-roading miles with no issues. Between the valve and a long hose extended off the nipple of the oil filter housing (2nd gen), my oil changes are tool and mess free

Yeah the engine bay gives me anxiety. If only I could have a Cummins 6.7 in an F350 paired with GM trucks’ Allison trans

Funny timing. I installed a Fumoto on mine 11 months ago and did my first oil change this past weekend. I'm amazed it took me 11 months to go 5k. That said, I'm sort of kicking myself for not getting one sooner. I didn't have a tube to slip on the nipple, but I didn't really need it either. I have a skid plate protecting the valve, so not too worried about that. I pulled the plastic clip off (which was the hardest part since it is protected by the skid), pushed the lever in and had a clean, tool free oil change. The flow of oil was very controlled and none spilled on the underside of the skid, onto my hands/bolt/socket, etc.

Just an update for those interested in the ammo deal. I'm waiting on @HootnHoller to answer a few more questions and gather some more info. Once those are settled, we'll get info out to everyone who indicated interest.

We now know my issues were due to heavy corrosion.

    Hello good sir!!

Hopefully the twin doesn’t have matching wheels!

To me 40s look normal on a truck like that. That's what stock should look like. Awesome rig for sure

Agreed. I rolled with 36” swappers on my bronco in HS. It also looked proper that way.

Dang! I want that flatbed too.

My SxS has taken over my off-road toy budget. But if I can get me some super single swap action and 40’s in the future, I might bite.

I have the “EZ Drain” version on the corvette, basically same thing except it has a polished silver finish instead of brass like the Fumoto. The only thing I had some issue with was getting it to rotate in just the right spot so that the lever was accessible, which on the Tacoma probably isn’t an issue. I bought it merely for the convenience of not needing crush washers or sockets to do an oil change.

50% of my motive for inquiring is that I’m tired of cramming myself under the wife’s car. It’s got more clearance than a Vette, but it’s still not as easy as the truck.

This is where a few pieces of scrap lumber come in handy; just drive up on some 2x4, 2x6, 2x8, etc and wiggle your way under there lol Subaru crosstrek, right?

Yeah, I just gave up and put the front up on extra tall jack stands when I have to change the oil. Haha. Even on the wife’s little Hyundai, I still have to at least put that one on ramps.
