I’m intrigued by this post as I’m looking to mount most of the controllers and electrical related components on a vertical mount, albeit on the bed side, either lower or higher.

I had some questions for the group. I currently have a Powerswitch to manage some of the current and future wiring, mounted in the typical engine bay fuse box area, and looking to do a secondary, maybe even a tertiary setup in the future.

What would be the most efficient game-plan? If this sounds challenging to answer, you can understand my confusion. Or just comment, and advise on my future buying/assembling process.

I have a Bluetti EB55 for light duty in the near-term, charging off the rear inverter. That can power at least a fridge, off-truck camp lights, etc.

Perhaps mid-term, AGM secondary in a tray on the passenger side engine bay. Run requisite wiring between batteries, then back again to switch/relays, etc. Add fuse, MI-ACR in between— done?

Mid-term-future: Add hood solar,, MPPT (BCDC1225?) allow for parallel chaining future panels, connect to secondary.

Future-state (keep or remove secondary?) run wiring back to bed, LiFePO battery/ies, charge controller, MPPT, panels.

    Thanks for your thoughts!

My next project will likely be a gx460 but that may be some years away. The 24 year model will be a total redesign I hear

Wait wait wait, the check charging system message is due to the battery tie down? I replaced the oem battery with an agm about a year ago but still get that message, also no acid in the compartment

Lol. Not because of the tie down. I should have paused that sentence.
I also check the new batt voltage after a drive and it’s at 14.1 volts.

Gave it its first dent/dents. I bumped into the black shelves which knocked the other shelves into the taco! All my fault. Not gonna buff out. At least it's on the passenger side so I don't have to see it every time I get in.

I decided that I wanted a bed mat, but wasn't willing to pay over $100 for one. I went to Tractor Supply and was looking at a stall mat 4' x 6' for $54 dollars, but it was very thick and I didn't think I could cut it with a razor knife. The person helping me said that they sell 1/4" rubber mat by the foot. It is 49" wide and as long as you want, for $ 7.99/foot. I bought 6' for my long bed, did some trimming around the wheel wells and tie downs, and now I have a bed mat that keeps things in place for $ 48.

squadrons are such nice lights. How you like the antenna mount? I feel like I'd want it in the rear of the truck so just curious why you picked the front

That’s rough. Looks like maybe some touch up paint would help with the scratches on the back / corner of the cab. Maybe look at the junkyard for an entire replacement passenger side door. MGM is a pretty common / popular color, so you might get lucky and find one.

That gap protector is pretty awesome. Any idea if they sell that separately? Wonder if I could get some sort of flexible trim at home depot for when I have a load of gravel/type stuff

Dang, I wish I’d have known about that. I bought one of the horse stall mats that you looked at and cut it into shape with a sawzall. Came out looking pretty good if I do say so myself. But it’s very thick and perhaps overkill.

Gonna have a stiff drink, go to bed and sleep on it! There's also a similar dent in the beside. Not sure if I'll turn it into my insurance company. Don't really want my rates to go up. I have 4 cars insured?

Mounted the Apogee front bumper last night. Installed the Bilstein 6112’s tonight, to lift it back up a bit.

*Eibach 700# springs, 5/4 circlip, got 1” of lift with the @Apogee Offroad steel bumper, @RCI-Offroad rock sliders, and @upTOPoverland alpha roof rack, bed truss, and bed rack.
