I've read they are compatible (possible with minor mod for the rear lower bushings), but am having a hard time digging up definitive information on the outcome of 4Runner shocks being installed on a 3rd Gen (ride quality, change in ride height, etc.) Anyone have experience?

I was wondering the same thing. I have a 2022 tacoma sport and a 2020 4runner off road premium suspension that I took off when new, and if anyone could verify any lift or ride difference it sure would save me a few bucks from buying a bilstein or eibach kit.

i actually have a pair of 20k mile 5100's I took off my 5th gen in my basement. Much different vehicle weights though. If nothing else the valving would likely be off. I know they would physically fit though.

This is a joke right? Did you know, with proper modifications you can put anything anywhere? The question is not how, but why.
