    Attention all makers, sellers, etc. who ship to buyers in Germany:

    Affective July 1st, 2022, if you sell a single item to a customer in Germany you are required to register with the LUCID Packaging system online. Registration is at no cost.
    This is a new law that affects anyone who makes stuff and ships to Germany regardless if they are e-commerce based or not.

    Here's an article that was sent out to anyone with an Etsy shop (some of you here probably already have seen it). Even if you don't have an Etsy shop and have any type of online store, this will apply:

    It does a decent job of breaking down what you should do and what the ramifications are if you don't register and send something to a buyer in Germany.
    Note that I don't know a lot about this and haven't registered but looks like I'll have to unless I ban all sales from Germany... Which I'd rather not be forced to do.

    I don't believe this affects "private" shipments. Meaning, if someone buys from you directly (not through an e-commerce site) and you ship as a "personal" item... Gets fuzzy there and I'm waiting to hear back more about that bit because it could affect all secondary transactions with German buyers.

    Once I find out more, I'll try to relay my experience.
