When you twisted the wing window to get a breeze and took a wasp to the crotch.

 

When I was about 10 there was a wasp on the back of the seat. I was stung in the back 3 times.

 

Grade 13? What backwoods school system did you attend?

 

We never had to go anywhere. They came right to our school with a team of nurses.

 

Buying surplus Jeep parts in a wood crate from 1947, and everything in the box was wrapped with thick brown paper and greasy Cosmoline.

Jump starting a 6 volt car from a 12 volt car made it spin up fast.

Buying used lead to melt for fishing weights and bullets. Carelessly dropping hot lead on your shoe.

My HS had "13th graders".
These guys had already graduated from another high school and then came to mine to earn extra credits for college. We usually called them PostGrads, but 13th grade was accurate as well.

 

Remember when Sitcoms were filmed in front of a real audience instead of canned laugh tracks?

 

In Fun City we had 6 VHF stations, plus PBS on 13....
I only watched UHF when "The Box" came on..

 

And you had to hold the button in on the handle to successfully lock the door from the outside when closing the door...

 

Remember when the first red colored "whitewalls" came out?

When whitewalls got skinny, then got two, then even three stripes?

Dad bought this recap as a spare in 1974. It was never run, so 100% tread.

Ontario Canada had 5 years of high school until 10 or so years ago. Every other province had 4 I think.

I was there multiple times including split site deployment (6 months) between Lajes and Rota, Spain. A month in Lajes, a month in Rota back and forth for 6 months. Beautiful island!

 

12,000 foot runway, approach control would give you 3 wind measurements: approach end, midfield and departure ens..

Yep, and from working the theater (RAF Mildenhall), sometimes all three = "oh hell NO".
