I went through so much hassle making one. Broke a vise trying to bend aluminum plate. Plate didn’t even bend 90 degrees. Aluminum plate then broke at the fold when I bent it more to reach 90 degrees. Bought a https://overlandequipped.com/ panel, wasn’t big enough to mount the Auxbeam box. Even thought about mounting it on top of fuse cover but how the hell the wires gonna get to the panel. Really wish they make the panel smaller like switch pro

I switch out the original auxbeam housing/bezel for one that @mkamp98 makes. Makes it look so much better and doesnt stick out so damn far. Good option for those that dont like how bulky the original switch panel is.

how are you holding it in place?
I just got the new version with the phone app but I’m still wondering if I should’ve gotten the switch pros instead. Kinda paranoid this thing will catch on fire

Anyone running the new auxbeam? i have been thinking of adding a ON/OFF/On switch to the ACC cable that turns on the switch panel.
One of the On positions will be connected directly to the battery and the other “on” position will be connected so that it only turn on when the truck is running or on the acc position.
My idea behind this is that it will allow me to control the lights with the phone and without having to switch the ignition I think it would be great when going camping
Just wondering if anyone had done this in a different way

I think that would be possible!

But their wiring diagram seems off. They don't show the wire to power the switch board. And their "wiring diagram" shows the old module. See the red circles.
So I am not exactly sure how you can wire it up. Sorry.

Are you putting the tape on top of switch blanks? I did this and it doesn't stay on very long for me.

I dont have any blanks where the switch panel is stuck to the dash. Underneath the panel is the cubby slot. Trying getting better double sided tape. Gorilla glue makes a really good double sided tape. There is also a 3m that is clear that sticks a lot better than the foam double sided tape.

I used the tape that was included with the switch panel. The backing on it is red so I automatically thought it was 3m. Probably some kind of knock-off. I'll give the gorilla glue brand a try.

Another thing that really helps is cleaning the surfaces with alcohol first. The dirt and armor all really prevents good adhesion.

Can you post a side view of the switch panel? I'd like to see how that's mounted. Thanks

Anyone here install this on their 2nd gen?

Is the power from the fuse you plug the add a fuse wire into supposed to be off when the ignition is turned to off? All the fuses I tested are on when ACC is on, but stay on when the key is turned off. Will the panel still be lit if I use one of those fuses and the truck is off?

I plugged into the ACC fuse.
When my key is off, the panel is off.

This is the fuse panel under the dash:

I used the ACC fuse. If you do remember to have a 7.5 amp mini fuse to use with the fuse adapter that comes with the switch panel. The fuses used in the fuse box are low profile mini fuses and won't work with the adapter.

I got it all set up now! I did forget to have 2 fuses in the add a fuse and was wondering why my radio wasn’t working lol but I got it all figured out. Works just as intended and cleaned up all the wiring under the hood. Plus I mounted the panel right behind the shifter and it looks super clean.
