My cables are from their older kit. They thread into the backing plate. That makes them universal as far as the brake end of the cable. That allows me to make up any length I want for cables.

Your kits from a tundra. They’re still threaded. His is for a 2nd gen Tacoma which uses those cables he’s got

Nice, performance wise any real difference? With the tundra calipers up front my 97 4runner had a dramatic stopping power difference. Intrested in the setup, my rear drums need to be adjusted frequently.

Drums have superior sureface area and technically will stop better. But they fade quick because they can’t shed heat nearly as quick as disc. Disc swap with a sequoia master should stop the same (or better if you’re out of adjustment currently) but it’s mainly going to help with brake fade and well.. easier brake jobs and no need to adjust

Yes that is correct , but I HATE DRUMS, they are more superior to disc, but I did the upgrade for looks and not working with nasty drums. I have the NEWER kit. You can UPGRADE to a TUNDRA master Cylinder or a Sequoia one. I do not use rubber hoses on any part of my brake setup. helps a lot with brake fade. In either case the REAR disc look a lot better with some nice wheels that show off your retrofit. These are 18X9 OEM Wheels

All that so you don't have to remove the rear axels? The backing plates come right off after that, or like most people do, cut them off. My Tacoma did not come with the E-Locker, so I was upgrading mine anyway, my setup also has ABS system.

Also another option was this , but way more expensive OEM backing plates!........ OUCH !!!!$500 each side. Or source them out at a salvage yard.

OEM TOYOTA PART#46504-60091 is the LH side and #46503-60131 is the RH side
Another Option: These are Advance Auto aftermarkets, they do not fit very well, but also doable, $175 for the set.

You have to press the axle bearings off to get backing plates off.
