    Yeah I was talking to him recently about getting a set of sliders and having him weld them on but he wants 500 up front on Zelle or have me eat the PP merchant fees so now I'm having to think on it

    Oh nah that's for new DOM sliders and welding them on. $1100 total but he wants $500 to schedule the appointment. It's really the unsecured transaction (Zelle) that I'm not interested in, or having to eat the PP fees. I realize $17 isn't a lot but it's the principle

    Gotcha . Look up JC customs on FB . He's in the upstate. I've seen his work and he does good stuff and a lot of the off-road guys have been using him lately

    What do you need welded ?

    @skeletron
    Hit me up on PM and we’ll talk.

    I’m In Spartanburg county.
    Pipe welder by trade but I also do CMC’s or really whatever you need welded. MIG,TIG,STICK, stainless, carbon, aluminum. I’m Mobile but that costs a good bit more. Bringing whatever you have to me would be cheaper. Also depends on what weekends I’m on call @ work as to what I can do.

    He made my front bumper, sliders and spare tire holder for my GX. I get what you're saying but with the high cost of materials lately, can't say I blame him.

    Welding materials, tools and consumables are outrageous. Always have been. That is one of the reasons why it costs so much to have things welded.

    Got a quote from the local steel shop on a 20ft stick of square tubing last week. $167.00 for just one. 1.5x1.5” 3/16”thick.

    Buy a flux core 110v Hobart 140 and teach yourself using YouTube and scrap. Welding together a bumper like that is a perfect starter project. The type of welding we do in this hobby is not hard.

    @easleycrawler

    Yeah, because $75-100 an hour you would have been better off buying the machine yourself.
    That’s a pretty lengthy project. Super easy for me but still going to take, just off the top of my head ~6 hours. You will need to weld small Stitches at a time probably 4-5” welds to keep it from warping. Then flapper disc the welds smooth.

    Harbor freight or Eastwood MIG would be plenty to handle the task. Also, flux core...ew

    Scared of some spatter? If you have good technique that can be minimal, and a wire wheel on a drill takes that and the slag right off in a second or two. Flip side is you don't have to worry about a bottle and it has more penetrating power (heh) than using a bottle on a 110 machine. Plus if you are lazy like me you can weld through paint, rust, millscale and all kinds of other shit with flux core.
