Just to be clear, there is NO long-bed Tacoma. There's short (6') and ridiculously short (5'). I prefer 6' as I generally (as in, when my isn't shaped like a Pringle) haul a LOT of stuff in it. I would love a 97" bed in a Tacoma!

Not the look you are going for but with a couple coats of clear that is kind of neat.

It doesn't take much to amaze my coworkers. I made this tool yesterday after I got home using a hacksaw, a grinder, and a short piece of conduit. It makes tightening these clamps a lot easier, especially the ones inside the instrument, and you are less likely to overtighten when using only your hand.

Alright, I need some opinions. We've got a canoe, and I've got a 1930's electric trolling motor for it. But I also have a 40V Ryobi power head, you know, one that can accept different attachments. If you could make the correct adapter plate to go from the brush cutter or weedeater attachment to a small trolling motor prop, would that work for a small battery powered trolling motor? Or do you think it would drain batteries too quick to be useful? I don't want a gas engine and I don't really want to have to bring a lawnmower battery and deal with the cables. My canoe crew aren't the best paddlers, and if this thing would run for 30 minutes total on one battery (10-15 minute intervals), I would be pleased. Do you all think it's a waste of time and think I should just save that time and money and upgrade trolling motors?

Now this is a cool idea!

Measure the amp draw of the largest accessory, it you can match that draw with a combination of gearing and prop size you should about equal the run time of the accessory.

About how many rpm does the trimmer or brush cutter turn compared to a regular trolling motor prop?
