Hey everyone, I figured I'd start a new thread here, piggybacking off of my "downgrade" thread. I have the option to buy this '22 trd pro suspension setup here:

    https://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/pts/d/catskill-22-toyota-tacoma-trd-pro-parts/7470295043.html

I have a 2018 trd or 4x4. My questions are:
Would this all fit and work ok? Any other parts missing I'd need?
Are the leafs the same as my stock leafs on the offroad, or do they have lift to them?
what is the lift on these over my stock OR?

Yes it will work. The leafs are the same and the coil overs add 0.5-1” by some accounts. What are your goals? If you just driving on roads you might not notice any difference.

even on the '22? I thought I read that they increased it or something. And there is no lift in the rear? I also thought I heard the trd pros do have some lift in the rear. The seller said it gives a 1.5" lift over stock.

You will get 1.5 inches over your stock height. And you will 100% notice a difference on roads. The pro suspension is a huge upgrade over the stock offroad suspension.

I put 2017 pro suspension on my offroad and it was a huge upgrade in handling.

ah ok cool, but thats just in the front? I guess I'm trying to figure out if the leafs are also "lifted" as well or if there is some kind of block in there. Also, would stock OR UCAs work or does the pro also have upgraded UCAs? If you read my other thread, I'm trying to actually "downgrade" my current lift and get the truck closer to stock. So I now have JBA high caster UCAs, but would want to return to "stock" UCAs, whichever those may be.

I have not seen any conclusive evidence the pro has any lift at all, but I have heard many claims that it is has about 1” in the front due to the different coil overs which I have no reason to disbelieve.

The leafs are not lifted, but do come with spacers to lift (you can see them in the pictures above the leafs)
Your stock arms will work just fine, though you will have to swap out the needle bearings in the left front of your diff for the bushing.

I am running 2017 pro suspension with eibach lift springs, so I am 2.5 inches over stock offroad. Anything over 3 inches and you will want new control arms.

I didn't know this, I thought the pro suspension was definitely higher. Are you saying in reality its not 1.5"?

Toyotas specs say its lifted 1 inch over other models. Then with the 2022 they state its .5 inches over last years pro.

Yep the ecgs is what you need, so your already ahead there.
    https://www.motortrend.com/features/toyota-tacoma-trd-pro-2022-four-wheeler-of-the-year/

Here it lists the suspension at 1.5 inches higher.

ok cool. So those spacers you're talking about, I assume I SHOULD install those otherwise I'll be nose high. And to that point, the only other issue I ran into with my current dakars, was I needed a shim to not have any vibration. Will I need that for this setup? Wondering if the spacer takes care of that.

Yep just put those blocks in the rear and it will be level. You wont need shims at such a low lift height.

awesome man, thanks for all the help. Kinda sucks I have to do this all but I'm just sick and tired of my current lift and setup. I wonder if others on here have swapped out multiple lift setups like this before on one truck lol.

Usually people will start with a rough country lift or something cheap, then not like it and spend the money to get a nice kit.

The stock pro suspension is a really good kit. They are also rebuildable, so you can send them out and get them made like new again.

yeah, I figured its a nice compromise from what I have now and stock. Just sucks because I'll have to also pay to have it all installed. If anyone is around CT or close, I can drive to you for an install and not get screwed by a dealership or even local shop!

1 inch is not terribly noticeable when parked near each other. 1.5 inch for 2022 pros (have yet to see a 2022)

But I can tell from experience that trd pro suspension on my offroad lifted the front end.
