For what it's worth, I got a light strip that has both turns, parking, and brake lights. Stuck on the back using magnets. 30 bucks, pretty wide, and checks all the boxes. Bright enough to be noticeable but not as bright as something from, say, VLEDs.

I don't know how heavy those chase lights are but a light strip is pretty...light!

FWIW, my quoted post LED strip has brake and turns. I just didn’t feel like going through the extra hassle of hooking up the turns. Plenty of other strips out there that include running LEDs that could be considered chase, you’d just have to hook them up to the right wire or switch. Super lightweight options and cheap as well. Going on almost 2 years with mine and no issues (despite being Amazon knockoff).

You say you have a bestop, that makes it even easier! Did you know that the tracks that run around the bed that the canvas clips to has a t-slot track on the top of it? You can make some mounts that fit to the rear track bar and it will just slide in. Here is a picture of one of my fishing rod holders in the track mounts. You could just use some L mounts from the hardware store, attach them to the track then bolt you light to that. It would sit perfect and be very solid when the tailgate is closed.

Anyone have those curved bars? First time I've seen them was just browsing their website and saw them.

If you're meaning the curved bar for the tailgate window, I believe the short box gets a curved bar and the long box gets a straight bar.

I’d like to order these bars. What size did you go with so they were able to fit over the Softopper?

I removed the Bestop from my second generation and will be installing it on my new 3rd generation when it arrives, I think only thing I will need to modify is the rear lock bar and I ordered the wiring harness to hook up my 3rd brake light

Over the top mod: bought the dog door add on ($30?) mostly just bc. I wanted to have open cab window even with the topper on. I probably could have left it the way it was designed but decided I wanted to have magnets rather than adhesive velcro so I cut into my
Topper, sewed in the flap upside down, slipped magnets in the flap velcro side, slipped in magnets in my main topper: takes 10 seconds to roll up from inside the cab and seals nicely when not in use.

Just installed mine today! Such a drastic change in the vibe of the truck with it on. Now I’m leaning towards getting a roof rack next
