yeah just seeing some pros in the wild, if you're used to looking at stock height, you can see the difference even though its slight.

Its definitelly slightly lifted for 2022 compared to prior year pro's which only were leveled up front.

hmm, I'm wondering about those upgraded control arms. Anyone know if I'll need those too? Or will stock OR arms be OK?

Stock will be fine. It was just a shiny bit for toyota im sure to market. Many even get in spec or darn close with 3'' lifts and stock UCAs, I did. 1'' up front isnt gonna throw you off.

Thats a relief. What do they mean with the increased rebound stroke?

I think that’s why I haven’t noticed any difference yet. Haven’t seen a 22 pro in the wild yet.

I’m on 2” lift and stock UCA. Works great.

For offroad, gives shock more articulation. You dont need it and neither did the prior pros.

IMHO, no off-road shocks, including the TRD Pro shocks, are necessary for driving on the road. Off road shocks are designed provide more heat dissipation, damping, adjustability, rebuild-ability, and general sturdiness. If you never drive off the road or otherwise take your truck outside its comfort zone, you are never fully utilizing them. Any shock designed for the road will do just as good.

I've not heard the term "increased rebound stroke", but I have heard that the TRD Pro shocks have about 1" more travel; similar to my King extended travel shocks. Extra suspension travel allows the suspension so soak up bigger bumps when driving fast off road and allows for more articulation when driving slow off road.

See these videos for more info.

that was from their marketing material. And the trd pro shocks give 1.5" upfront... I'm thinking your kings are more than that.

My Kings have adjustable preload which allows a range of ride heights. I have them adjusted to 2" of lift. The TRD Pro coil overs do not have a preload adjustment AFAIK.

yeah the kings are better/offer more adjustment. But I'm just looking to go lower anyways. Don't need all that lift, currently I'm at about 2.5" upfront on my 6112s. I was just asking here if the new UCAs that come on the '22s are necessary to run the trd pro suspension kit.

Bilstein 6112's have adjustable preload last I checked. You could lower your ride height by simply adjusting it and save a lot of money.

so this thread is a spawn off my main thread. It's more than just that, I just created this thread for compatibility questions. My 6112s are almost shot and I'm looking to get my truck back to "stockish".

the high castor built in is screwing up my alignments and since I'm lowering my lift height anyways, I won't need them and can just use stock (and sell the JBAs).

There's a NE in person meetup happening this weekend to kick some tires and run some wrenches.
I can't make it, but looks like a fun time.

Probably too short notice to get yours done this weekend, but there's not a reason something of the sort couldn't repeat.

How do you know your current shocks are shot? Is there a visible oil leak? Damage to the shafts? Is the truck oscillating up and down after hitting a bump? If no to all of these, your shocks could be just fine. I think I have replaced my shocks once in my entire life after it blew a seal at about 150k miles on my Subaru.

They are bobbing a bit. Midas told me they are close to shot and I’ve noticed they feel like crap lately
