So who is good at tracking down squeaks in suspension? Don’t know if it’s a shock ,bushings or something serious. Need some help.

Can be tricky to track down but one way ive done in the past is to get a can of silicon lube spray and go component by component spraying them. Then drive around and see if the squeak changed at all. Hopefully you'll spray something and the squeak will lessen or go away and you'll know it's that. Won't fix it long term but has worked to figure it out at least

Yep. And it's probably dead (from being misaligned at the factory) and causing the noise.

Did you already track it down? I'd start with if it squeaks when you stand on your sliders and rock your truck back and forth

Yes. Front rubber bushing. Above bumper mounting points. Ordered the set from Amazon and will replace this weekend. Hopefully not in the rain. Lol

This…or you just accept the squeak into your life and embrace it, then worry when it goes away

I just did the poly bushings and it cured a ton of noise! I had some noise developing and swore it was just the lower uniballs on the shocks again, did the bushings for fun and trucks pretty silent now.

has anyone switched over from Dakars to Deaver? I'm wondering which Deaver set would be equivalent to Dakars with the overload leaf? I got a fairly heavy behind. Especially when loaded up.

I’m switching from HD Dakars to Stage II, but I’m also shedding a canopy, rear HC swingout with a full 35” spare, dual cans and dumping the entire bed for an aluminum flatbed..

@timklb switched from Dakar's to Archive leafs, seemed to be a very well made pack and should carry a good amount of weight. I'm sure Tim can chime in on that option/how they have been doing/how much weight he carrys. Just another option!

    Thanks Kevin!

When I got the Dakar's in 2018 they did everything I wanted them to. Had about 2.5-3 in of lift in the rear with increased capacity. Started with the standard pack and put the add a leaf in to make them heavy's. I wasn't ready to spend the money on Deaver's and there weren't a ton of "bolt on" options nor reviews like there are now. Eventually through use and time they started to sag, squeal, and lost some load capacity. They also started to W (invert in the center). When they were replaced, I was at about 2 in unloaded with shackle damage due to how the leaf's sit inside the shackle. They were ok on the road, but when I was loaded near their 600lb capacity the rear end would be "drifty" on the road as I could feel the back skipping around. Back end would be pretty bouncy on the road as well, just felt a little unsettling. Oh and they sagged pretty decently with any weight increase.

So I wanted to get these replaced with something new. I was set on the Icon RXT's or Deaver as they are purpose built and have great features. RXT's give you load capacity (if you can stay near 600) at a decent price but you sacrifice lift. Deaver's (specifically their expedition springs) give you different options for different loads, have a spring rated for more weight (stage III) but your going to pay for them ($1300+). I don't know if its true or not, but there are some grumblings that Deaver has changed their design a bit within the past year or two for their expedition packs, specifically their stage III to where they just are not as good as they used to be. Something about using less leaf's, I don't have any proof of this just hearsay.

So through my browsing I found this post:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-archive-garage.519625/page-157#post-26207628

Eric @ARCHIVE is making a new leaf pack that work in the same manner as Deaver, albeit just a medium duty and heavy duty for now. I have never run Deaver so I don't have anything to compare it to but I have been pretty happy with them. Have a canopy, hc rear with swingout, rack, 33 spare, with other various crap for around ~600lbs constant. When going for a walkabout there's all our camping crap with a German and Dutch shep increasing our load to about 900-1000lbs. Running archives HD springs, I am literally at 3 inches of lift at 600 and 3 inches of lift at 900. They don't sag. Road manners are great, I don't get the feeling the rear end is going to jump off the road and they are firm but have enough spring for bumps in the road. They are long enough to droop 12in shocks, they don't interfere with your shackle AND they cost less than Deaver. I would at least PM Eric and ask him about pricing before buying some Deaver's, but even fully priced I think they are less moneys. Just pricing out some Deaver's its 1300+.

At the end of the day I just thought that Archive offered a similar/"potentially" slightly better product for less money and I have been pretty happy with them. They do exactly what Eric said they would do and are well thought out and constructed. Kevin @Buttskevin21 installed them and said they looked pretty nice. I think you would be pretty happy with Deaver as well, I am sure they make an excellent and comparable product. You can also just ignore everything I am saying because I am a cheap ass and if I can save more money for chicken nugz I am going to do it.
