that must have been nerve wrecking, did you find out why it was delayed? Mine is supposed to be here between the 4/28-5/3. every day feels like an eternity, don't think I could handle any more delays LOL

Man, the whole process has been a mess as I'm sure many can attest. I'll be skeptical it'll work out until I've got the keys and driving down I-80 lol.

I got the call from the dealer about an hour after I saw the update but didn't think to ask them about the delay. When the delivery date came and went I have admittedly been obsessively refreshing the v-spec.

    Hopefully yours is on time!

I got a text from my salesman that my truck is on a truck and on its way (leaving the factory) from Santa Rita , Mexico...
He said its the first of 3 trucks and a boat away..
Anyone know if there is a designated route?
If so whats the actual route from Santa Rita, Mexico to New Hampshire?
Where are the stops along the way
I'm guessing the boat ride is across the gulf? ....Anyway its on its way....

thats weird, they must be having issues with rail transport. Rail is slow but cost pennies compared to truck freight

I read the following article last week which details Toyota’s logistic plan for the Guanajuato plant. It indicates most shipments will go by boat and the remainder by rail. Granted, the article is a bit old. I suppose it really depends on destination and various other factors. My truck from the same plant is on a train all the way to the Midwest.

My odometer just ticked over to 3 miles (after 9 days of nothing), I'm assuming that's from driving off the boat. No clue as to the route, but maybe something like Lazaro Cardenas to Long Beach, then trucks the rest of the way.

    Mine's headed up to CT.

    Final Update!
2/3/22: Dealer notified me they were allocated the exact truck I wanted (2022 TRD Pro MT in Black)
2/5/22: Went in and met with salesman
2/8/22: Put $1000 deposit down. VIN shows a week 9 build, they are expecting the truck delivered in April sometime.
3/8/22: Truck built. Provided with permanent VIN from dealer. Temp VIN no longer works on website or app.
3/15/22: Truck finally reported data to the Toyota app. Shows 0mi and 1/8 tank of gas.
3/18/22: Toyota website is now updatedfrom no ETA to showing an ETA of 4/13 -4/18 and app now shows 1mi on the truck.
    4/5/22: Status Changed to F

Those waiting will be paying more and at a much higher rate. Toyota said after all this the new business model is 30 day supply of cars. Since they have a 21 day supposedly now and nothings on the lot don’t expect things to change much. Also expect the manufacturers to raise prices they’ll want more of whatvthe dealers are getting now. Rumor is 12 percent price increase on any new faced or updated models so expect 40k offroads to be in the 45k range on the new tacomas.

They will lose a ton of sales to other brands that are putting out smaller trucks in the 30k range with much better mileage. Toyota needs to tread carefully or they will watch their lead slip with all of the new competition. I doubt a 12% increase next year on a 2016 model year. Those of as that buy tacomas understand they’re special, that’s why we buy them. The millions of others in the market? Not so much. The Tacoma is already lagging in “features” that cost a ton of money to add to vehicles. They’re better served keeping the product as is, and the price competitive.

You in the Southeast Region? I'm in NC and have never had the V-spec work for me. Only way I get info is check
Explore Toyota (setbuyatoyota.com) with my zip code (gives an available date) or what I get from the dealer which is nothing more than I already know. I don't ask so guess they figure no needed extra effort. From what I've read, folks get different answers from dealers of what information they can get but suspect when some folks get the detailed information they've shown. I'd think they can all pull up the tracking info, just don't.

12 percent increase is on any new or refaced models so wouldn’t be on older ones being phased out like this generation but those will be going up as well probably 4 percent. Toyota knows what they are doing. My neighbor bought a ranger he said it was 5k less than a Tacoma I said yeah well in 5 years let’s see where we are at. I’ll be almost the same you’ll be 50% less and have engine problems and a 10 speed transmission going south. All manufacturers will follow suit and have the same supply. Everyone’s making too much money. They are beholden to stock investors not customers so they’ll do what makes them the most.
