I’m probably the only guy on here running 255/80/17s with stock mudflaps and no rubbing haha.

    Hey Guys!

I have updated the front page to reflect the options for YOKOHAMA. Let me know if see anything else that needs to be updated.

    Thanks!

100% agree. Weight is your biggest issue. If you want the taller look with better MPG then you need less weight.

Weight is your biggest issue. If you want better MPGs - find a lighter tire. That is a huge reason why I posted the tire options with weights because this can be a huge factor.
Look at 17" tires with a Load C. There are very few options in 16" that are Load C. Load Cs are typically lighter than Load E tires due to less ply. These will give you the look your after but with less impact on your fuel economy.

Unfortunately what you are calling out is the big problem with skinnies. There are not a lot of 6ply options out there, especially in the 16" wheel range. If you move to a 17" you have a few more options.

No, they're not stock. That's why I added the photo; thinking it showed enough room for even stock flaps to fit. But IDK, maybe they won't.
I just got lucky that I got the tires I wanted and kept the protection of my paint from rocks & debris. Not to mention no CMC...

I’m with you on protecting the paint and no CMC.

But yeah, the tire is very close to stock mudflaps. I’m very happy I don’t have to spend like 200 for new mudflaps.

Adding caster at the lower control arm will net you more clearance. I never rubbed when I ran 255’s on stock wheels but my truck also didn’t come with mud flaps.

I just got one off Amazon. Sold by Simple Tire. Arrives next Monday.

Edit: I just relooked and they are now unavailable. I may have gotten one of the last ones.

I couldn’t find any online, but went to the Discount Tire store and they were able to get them in three days…their website put availability at mid June. Worth a shot if you can’t find them online.
