I put a $250 deposit on a white Trd sport March 18th,2022 with a statementof 3-6months to delivery, wouldfind out more precisely after several weeks The allocation i believe. I have not received any updates, i called today, the person said they are now expecting 6 months and they'll call me about a month prior to let me know . This is in Stratford Ontario Canada.
Anyone else getting treated that way? I expected the allocation and a fairly firm delivery window by now

I contacted a dealer around the same time and made my deposit around March 26th. My dealer got the allocated build on April 6th with a build date of 4/21 (processing 4/22). I also had a nice chat with my salesperson and he asked me to text back every few weeks to see if there are any updates. I'm very pleased thus far. BTW, I requested an SR5 4x2 DCLB....the one he found had a bunch of worthless addons (mud flaps, BO package, all weather mats). FWIW, my dealership charges MRSP with no shenanigans.

Well, I called my sales guy up and he said that they would be finding out what their allocation is on the 19th but they didn't hear anything by noon that day so they might know on the 20th and that was today.
    Still no news.

I asked if I did get something if I could go pay for it and he said:
"well we can't take payment till its 1-2 days out from arriving and when we get the allocation some are built and some are to be built so it could take a couple of months...."

What the flying fuck have you been doing since I put a deposit down back in January you doofus, sitting on your ass?
Ugh I wish there was more than a single dealership within a 2 hour drive from me.

I am in BC and this dealer apparently sells lots of Tacomas. Salesman told me anywhere from3 weeks to 3 months but it depends on the package and options that you want on your build. I pick it up tomorrow, exactly 5 weeks since I put a deposit down, it arrived at the dealership last Friday

There were never Toyotas flooded on the lots. At best, in my region at least, you would be lucky to see more than 5-10 on a lot, and they were constantly moving. might be better in larger cities but Toyota has always operated on a pull system vs a push system like ford. I can drive by my local ford dealership and there is typically close to 100 F150's on the lot and I'm talking Pre Pandemic. This has never been the case with Toyota.

You need to try other dealers, They don't get much say in their allocation, Its a request (wish list) and in normal times its pretty easy for them to get something close if not exactly what you want. Right now its a lot trickier. You have to remember Toyota has hundreds if not thousands of suppliers. Each part requires a purchase contract. These contracts are negotiated way ahead of time and the amount of parts in the contract dictates the price of the parts in question. You have to think of the big picture on this one, Toyota has to look at the total supply of parts that they ae under contract to purchased which was likely decided 6 months to a year in advance, then they have to look at the dealer request, then they have to figure out the most cost advantage way to match the two together. add that in with delays and chip shortages, and yeah, here we are. If you want to get a truck that matches your specs, you really need to reach out to multiple dealers. most dealers should offer a deposit refund at least up to the point that they are allocated a truck that matches your request or you agree to the changes. another thing you have to remember is, they could very well have 20 other people requesting trucks, Im sure they are trying to match their allocations as close as possible to other people on there list.

Yeah, You need to reach out to more dealers, They aren't screwing with you they just are not getting the allocation you want. you either have to loosen your requirements or get more feelers out.

Interesting, I've never seen anywhere near that. I know when we bought our 4runner in 2016, you were lucky to find 3 or 4 on the lot at any given time. An that was the same for every dealer within a 2.5 hour radius of Louisville KY

YES!!! Just checked and my status has switched to "F". Dealer told me yesterday that 5/2 would be the day, and it's starting to look that way.

I can confirm some of this information from the screenshot my dealer provided me. Truck made in Guanajuato, trucked to Port Lazaro Cardenas. There it was loaded onto a ship bound for San Diego.

I'm in Albuquerque, but purchased from Las Vegas dealership.

Edited to add: That's a long time to be F. Yours must be on a row boat or horse drawn wagon.
