    I hear you.

It took me 6 hours to change the alternator on my 2nd gen Tundra.

If I ever meet the engineer that designed the engine layout on that truck, imma gonna fupa punch that turd.

I have often been working on something and thought "somewhere there is an engineer laughing right now".

This one took me about two and a half hours. I was slightly deceived because the video I watched was for a 2006 and I figured a year wouldn't make that much difference. Some of the hoses and brackets were different so it didn't really help with how to get it out. I finally found the one magic bolt that opened things up enough for it to work.

The other issue was the sleeve for the crimp bolt was about 1/16" too far in so the new alternator wouldn't slide into place. I put an eye bolt through the sleeve then put a washer and nut on the bolt and used a 24" socket extension through the eye to pry the sleeve over a bit. Thankfully it all buttoned up nice and easy after that.

According to repairpal, typical prices run between $479 and $798 so I saved at a minimum $260 doing it myself.

Thank you, I am happy with how it turned out! Now I just need to reinforce the corner of my workbench so I can mount it properly.

Super dense fog in the area this morning. Can't run lights and sirens as the lights bounce back at ya.

Very dense fog on my drive in today as well. Not the thickest fog ever but enough that few drivers thought it prudent to drive 10-15 mph under speed limit:facepalm:
Goodmorning crew. I slept very good last night.
Hour left in the day yesterday and got sent on a mission to take some measurements so ended up staying 45 min over. Measuring wear on crane pin and sheaves. Pin that sheaves run on 11.001" diameter, same wear as last time it was inspected, about .013" at worst location.

I ask my 6 year old daughter last night what age do you think you should get a cell phone? She said 8

    I said I'm thinking more like 18 :D

Our daughter takes hip hop and has a recital coming up in June for every age group at the dance place. My wife sent me an email yesterday about dads/daughters having a part in it, I ask her if she wanted me to sign up, she insisted

I have to go to dance practice for dads starting next week
