Ugg ... getting down to the nitty gritty

 

I see jersey ads have now made an appearance (next year.) I knew it. First it started with all the extra ice stuff and digital ads, then the helmet, now also the jersey patch. They need to curb that before it turns into ads all over the uniform, which would be total BS. I know attendance is down league-wide and there is revenue lost but no one wants ads on the uniforms.

 

Yeah. It seems unprofessional. My grandson's soccer team always had advertisements but he was like 10, 11 or 12 at the time.

 

I'm not a big fan of it either. but the extra revenue leads to keeping the league alive. I do agree at some point they need to say, ok this is enough But when it comes to money.....is it ever enough?

It could always be worse, end up like some of the Europe leagues

I realize COVID (lack of) revenue froze the cap (which wasn't planned) and created it's own problems for everyone. But it went from added ice sponsors, to digital sponsors on the ice/boards for tv, to helmets, to jerseys really quickly. I mean, they can do what they gotta do, but I don't like it. And at the end of the day, I have a hard time sympathizing for the league/teams. When as soon as a team get popular, the ticket/concession prices double for the fans etc.

 

I think the players agreed to the advertisement to pay back their escrow to the league to speed up the owed money so the cap can extend and they can make more eventually.
yeah its crazy how they will nickel and dime you for everything at a game, especially if the team is doing well but That's not always true, everyone hates the coyotes and have you seen their ticket prices for their college stadium?!

Its crazy to think me son plays in a 6,014 seat arena for 8u and a professional team is playing on the same... its an embarrassment and the nhl should be ashamed to let this happen

or a projector that shines a brands logo on the ice from their helmet

 

I feel like there is always drama around that team in AZ. It's crazy. And to me, those prices are insane, for a college-arena, as is that whole situation in general.

 

They should of moved them to Saskatoon temporarily. The city has a ready to go 15,000 arena and, for the short term, it would be completely viable until a solution is found.

 

At this point, all things are on the table, as far as I'm concerned. I feel like there has been issue after issue with the arena, the city, ownership. It's always something. I feel bad for the fans there, but at the same time, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle. But maybe it's not my place to have an opinion, since I haven't dug too deep into the various issues.

Anyways, what a game from Desmith last night. 52-save shutty. That is awesome. Hopefully he can hold it down until Jarry is better. I heard that they had to push Jarry out on the ice in a chair for the team photo, so it doesn't sound like he is doing too great. I expect Desmith to start the playoffs.

So does anyone know what is going on in Vegas? Did Lehner actually back-up last night or is he really done for the year? What a ridiculous situation. But part of me likes watching that team destroy everything that got handed to them lol.

Vegas is a literal dumpster filled with used condoms and hobo shit set on fire. I'm pretty sure if they don't beat Dallas in the next game their lightning cap move is all for none,

 

Yes, I believe they have to win out or something. But I just thought it was crazy that Lehner had been playing hurt, and Coach PD sort of threw him under the bus twice last week. So then it came out Lehner was having season-ending surgery. But Coach said no he expected him in the line-up on Sunday. And then I heard before the game that Lehner was expected to be the back-up. So I was just curious if he actually dressed or if he was done for the season. But that is a terrible look for the team, along with them thinking they were going to be a Cup favorite and potentially now missing playoffs.

 

The way that they keep just moving major assets to win is absurd. they almost won the cup their first year and then started to trade off great assets. I feel like they are going to end up bottom feeders quick with the way they just dump people and treat their goalies.

 

Firing Gallant, which was asinine in itself lol. But yes, I agree.

 

Jake’s Mother and I are first cousins. I watched Jake and his Brothers grow up.
