Yeah I can see that being a bit of an obstacle. Since this would really be a more temporary storage solution for when I'm away from my main box, then I'm hoping it won't be too annoying. the Husky box does offer some of the stackers that have front drawers, so that could help with accessibility

Added an upgrade to the drill press, just need to source some mounting hardware for it.

Hey fellas, I'd like to upgrade my hand file collection. Right now I have an off-brand purchased years ago from who-knows-where. Recommendations? They don't necessarily need to come in sets if I can "piece" together a useful collection. Thoughts?

I use to have a set of nicholson metal files and was happy with them for infrequent work.

Huge mix. Top names to ancient worn stuff. Lots of Amazon purchased files as well - they have some nice machinist files.
If they are shot, replace otherwise, use as directed.

Anyone have a recommendation for a good LED work light for under vehicle use? Helped a buddy fix a classic LBJ failure last night and a cellphone and headlight weren't the greatest illumination tools we could have had for doing the job. Truck lit us up well, but wasn't ideal for the nooks and crannies in the suspension.

Get a couple of these cheap guys. They work great to magnet onto the frame and rotate/twist to shine wherever you need it. On sale for $5 pretty regularly. Not the brightest bulb in the bunch, but you also aren't going to blind yourself if you glance at it. And if you get a bit too ambitious with a hammer and break it, yolo it was $5.

Yeah, there's a few decent and largely expendable HF options. Was just looking to see what else might be out there. Rechargeable is a plus.

Edit: This one is catching my eye due to output and size. This is gonna be tucked in my onboard truck tools bag so it can't be super huge.

I have one of these puppies: battery last fairly long and it puts out a lot of light

Was using it to get more light while welding something to the inside of my frame and had it sitting on top of the exhaust. Proceeded to forget it was under there and drive 30 miles to napa and back. It was melted a bit, but still keeps on working well for me.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Do you by chance already have batteries for a cordless system? If so I'd give whichever brand you have a shot. For example I have both Milwaukee M12 and M18 batteries so there are many options to choose from, several I already own.

I just stopped in that aisle the other day and was looking at these, I still don’t have any sawhorses and these caught my eye.

90% of the time I just use a second headlamp. I always try to buy the ones with an integrated clip so I can clip it to my shirt or jacket. When combined with one on my head that usually illuminates what I need.

I've got this same light and love it, only real downside I've found is the battery only lasts for about one hour. I might buy a second and swap them out to charge the dead one.

I use the DeWalt system, and the LED light is very bright. Obviously, not disposable.

I'm sure Milwaukee has a similar light.
