Someone is selling a 2021 for $1500 and it looks mint, still has the little plastic thing around the cassette. Think I'm going to buy it and throw some obnoxiously expensive parts on it while waiting on the 2nd Arrival:anonymous:

    https://www.cahabacycles.com/product/trek-fuel-ex-5-381311-1.htm

At $1500 it's a bike I can keep forever as a beater and loaner.

TBF, it does have the same geometry throughout the bikes entire line up IIRC.

Also, who knows if the guy will have it by the time I get off. FB marketpalce says 15 people have it saved.

Yea I would be surprised if they didn't warranty it considering the location.
Although I think if they didn't, I would just run it and keep an eye on it to make sure it didn't grow. This will be my park bike once my switchblade shows up.
Last bike I had carbon repair on and had repainted ended up costing more than it was worth imo.

Pretty sure that is correct. The Fuel EX is a sleeper. Great bike thats really fun. It has TREK on the downtube so a lot of folks are too kool to ride 'em. I've had two, would totally own one again.

Dang. Central Bama seems like a hotspot for decent MTB deals. Not too far from me but I don't have the bookface.

Looking for a wheel builder for a new bike build. Probably going I9 rims/hubs. I did a search and saw recommendations for Speedvisionshop on PB and Speedgear Bike. Any other recommendations? I sent Hubsessed (IG) a request for quote a few weeks ago but didn't get a response. Thanks!

Hubsessed was gonna be my recommendation. Its strange Dusty hasn't gotten back to you, he's usually really good at that.

Ooooooooh, with this new news please note. I’m still interested in a $1500 bike if it gets more people out riding.

    Yeah.
When I lived in West County, the guy at Ballwin Cycles was highly recommended. I had him fix a wheel for me once.

I sent him a DM through IG this morning to check in and am awaiting a response. It's possible my request was lost or overlooked.

It’s getting exciting here in Bham area. I’ll link a few things. We’re hosting the 2022 World Games which is kinda neat looking at some of the events.

RideBham is building bike trails with the help of Ride Kanuga at Red Mountain. next to Oak Mtn is putting in trails.

Then finally we have where the workers even “shred the Gnar” on lunch breaks. upload_2022-4-21_15-2-18.jpg

The fact that the builders of Citywalk shred tells me that's gonna be a sick area, not just some afterthought skate park that parks and rec hired out their brothers construction company to build.

It looks like a Colonnade in Seattle or 9Line in SLC on Steroids

I'm not into skateboarding, I've tried it a few times. Unfortunately no teacher or anyone around me that I could learn from. I did drop in a few times and the last time came down on my foot when the board slipped out and was crip walking a few days. Where I grew up, skating just wasn't big enough, so I hung that up. If you grow up miles from the city it's a hard sport to get into.

I will possibly buy a DJ or BMX though

I've used my MTB on the skatepark once or twice, but skateboards and I don't get along either. Had my world rocked a few times goofing around on friends' boards and always ended up with my face on the floor sooner than not.
