Locking the OBD Install (Onboard Diagnostic Port)

    Apparently, from what I've read on the internet, if you lock the port, and there were an accident, for example, you technically can keep the port locked until a court order. :locked:

    It seems like a easy process to do with the onboard electronics already in the truck. It's a program that could run through the radios computer screen. I remember when I swapped out my jeep radio and had to enter an unlock code provided by jeep once i installed it to make it work. If jeep can figure out a anti theft feature like this why can't they protect the entire truck that way...........

    A lot of people don't even know this locksmith technology exists. After programing keys myself, it seems much easier to use one of these tablets, compared to using Techstream. :notsure:

    Sorry, yes, it is metal.

    I'm not sure, but I assume if someone copies the key fob, then they don't need to access the obd Port unless they have an emulator.

    The obd Port allows the immobilizer "key info" to be easily accessible (broadcasted throughout the obd port). Imagine, not having your safe deposit box locked during a bank robery. :notsure:
