Where you “on the gas” in this picture?
    70 mph @ 3k RPM seems high?
Almost like it was in 3rd?

Probably about right, my V6 runs about 2500 @ 70 and 4cyl trucks are geared lower.

For some reason I was thinking the 2WD 5 Lug were like a 3.58 rear end and .71 OD?

Here is mine in 4th (and still in 4th) while
    towing.

3.58 is correct; 2.7L 4x4s and PreRunners has 4.10s, but I am unsure of V6 models. Also, when did the 2nd Gen first get the TPMS? I thought it was 2008, but yours is a 2007 and I see a tire pressure light; My buddy who cleaned my throttle body and injectors has a 2005 RC 5-lug that does NOT have TPMS.

My 05’ PreRunner didn’t have TPMS.
As for when it was standard, I don’t know.

My 05’ PreRunner didn’t have a cabin filter either.

TPMS was never an option; It was mandated by federal law starting in either 2007 or 2008. Since yours is a 2007, I'm assuming it was 2007. 2005 had an insert for an air filter; My buddy @SweetTaco_TR who did the throttle body and injector cleaning yesterday has a 2005 RC5-lug 5-speed and he says it has a cabin air filter. His DOES NOT have the TPMS. Mine, being a 2010, obviously does have TPMS.

On another note, my truck's carpet is trashed; I found a complete brand new cut pile carpet for my truck for less than $130. My mechanic said he'd be willing to help me with the install/replacement. Since my truck got a new frame and all that entails at no cost to me, I find myself more and more willing to spent money on other things as they wear out! I thought about using spray-on bedliner on the floor, but when my friend and I tore it up back in 2018 to run the wiring for the subwoofer and external amp, I was shocked by the amount of wiring and shit under there. I used to work at a bar called Puck; The owner of the bar had a 1999 GMC Safari SLE AWD that we used as the work van for all things bar-related, like picking up beer. The owners of the bar bought the van new and used it for another restaurant they owned before Puck; The van was wrapped with the Puck logo, phone number, etc and as such earned the name "Puck Van". You could still see the outline of the previous restaurant's name under the Puck logo on the hood.

Anyway, long before I started working there in 2014, the owners of the bar had the carpet torn up and replaced with spray-on bedliner. The difference between a 1999 GMC Safari and a 2010 Toyota Tacoma is that the van is nowhere near as electronically complex as my truck. As such, there were no wires to speak of underneath the carpet and the spray-liner was just applied to bare metal. My Tacoma has all sorts of wiring for airbags and other vital systems, plus the obviously non-factory stereo wiring, running under the carpeting; As such, substituting carpet with spray-liner in my truck would likely cause issues down the road.

The Puck van never actually died, but it was retired in 2016-2017 because it just gold old and kept having issue after issue; It had like 105K miles, which was low for a 1999 vehicle at the time, but the A/C didn't work well and it was rather cumbersome to drive compared to other vehicles. The owner of the bar just gave the van to her brother; My Tacoma became the unofficial "Puck Truck" due to its reliability and relatively nimble handling, and remained the primary supply-run vehicle until Puck closed indefinitely in January 2019.

I’ve only had the step plate off.
And I honestly can’t even remember why I took it off. There are wires underneath it best I remember.

In my case it's airbag wires, airbag sensors, and the backup camera wire; Stereo wiring is under carpet...
