Doing some fiberglass work today on this headlight bucket-thing. Cracked when I took it off the bus.

I just want to take a moment to boast, because I can't do it in front of my wife :D

she's had crazy allergies for the last few years and all along I've been saying "you might be allergic to the sycamore trees". We have 2 big ones in our backyard and right next to our bedroom (where her allergies are really bad). she kept saying no, she's been around them before, etc etc

Guess who got an allergy test today and is, in fact, allergic to sycamore trees :p

Which actually sucks because we can't really do much about it besides getting a HEPA air filter for the bedroom, short of moving

It was probably one developed in later life because she did grow up around them as a kid. But yeah sometimes you develop them later which sucks. My only allergies have been the typical seasonal ones, plus an allergy to penicillin. Luckily I wasn't born back when that was the only antibiotic around

I became lactose intolerant late. Fun surprise. At least now she knows though, maybe some shots can help?

I didn't think to ask about the allergy shots, maybe...she said they just advised getting good air filtration for indoors and washing the sheets regularly. It's not a crippling allergy but it does cause pretty bad sinus issues for her

I always thought lactose intolerance was more due to intolerance rather than allergy (like not being exposed to much for awhile then your body doesn't like it)?

I could never give up cheese or ice cream, I would continue to eat them even if I had to do it on the toilet

Yeah turns out you can stop/severely slow the production of the enzyme that breaks it down and its actually more common later in life than childhood. I basically just choose what's worth the consequences now haha

I think my mom forced us kids to drink enough milk that that'll never happen to me. My mom was one of those mom's that believed all the Big Milk ad campaigns saying it was the greatest thing ever for kids, so we had to drink it morning noon and night lol. Surprised I didn't turn into a steer

I rarely drink milk now unless it's being added into something like a protein shake or coffee drink

I do have chronic stomach issues but not the kind associated with lactose intolerance. I wonder if dairy has something to do with it. Hmm

Unless you want to go get tested, an elimination diet can narrow it down a bit. Dairy is sneaky man.

I've also had this inexplicable hip pain lately that wakes me up at night throbbing. Won't go away until I get up and walk around or stretch my legs a bit. Went and got x-rays done and everything looks normal. It's fucking weird

    getting old sucks

or maybe dairy really is killing me

I should probably get the same test done that my wife did.
