They say it's good out to 400yrds in suppressed/subsonic form. I never even searched for the super sonic ballistics

It's basically the AR10 version of 300BLK. Barrel change is all that's needed :D

I went with Ballistic Advantage as they make the barrels for Aero anyway and I figured it would help ensure head spacing was good. The gas rings in the Aero BCG are tight but ought to break in. The first box of 308 I ran through it worked perfect but when I tried 7.62 the other day it seemed like it had a low gas issue and I had issues with the bcg locking back on the last round and some feed issues as if the bolt wasn't coming far enough back. @OnePuttBlunder said he had some of the same issues but as he has shot it more it has been working better.

I believe if I were to change calibers it may be a 6.5 Creed. Have you bought the uppper for that build yet? :boink:

I'm trying to get the 308 finished before I start down any other roads. I highly doubt I will build another AR10 lower though :D............unless I find some really good deals

You're probably right, but it'll have to be a great deal. I really have no need for the AR10, and different uppers will be more than enough..............I think

I would inagine there’ll be some good sales around Memorial Day. Watch Schuyler arms for sales also they had some great ales around Christnas you can thank @gixxerphil for that one.
I ordered the Barrell strait from Ballistic because I could choose the option for them to drill and pin the gas block which you can’t do if you find it on sale, idk if they even do it when they have a sale

So midway usa birthday pricing is actually pretty good.

@Casper66 just ordered 100rds of that Federal 150gr MSR to try out and 100 more of the s&b 168 that the aero seems too like too.

Sub $1 per imi smk 77gr razorcore was too good to pass up. I've been buying up a fair amount of this lately $19 per box was their previous best non birthday pricing non sale was $22 per box

I've been trying to find decent pricing on it. Only thing I had previously seen was in the $35-$43 range per box and wasn't going to spend FGM money on fusion msr

So stock Aero m5 buffer spring (bottom)for 7 inch tube. Compared to Sprinco orange AR10 buffer spring(top) also for 7 inch tube
Just installed bcg is definitely closing with a little more umph this may be the solution to some of my failure to feed issues. I still may swap for heavier buffer as the vltor hs2 i just got for another ar build seems heavier than the stock aero "m5" buffer. I use quotes because it looks like their branded M5 carbine enhanced buffer kit is the same as the M4 in terms of spring and buffer weight.

If the bcg is not coming back far enough like a low gas issue wouldn’t a longer heavier spring compound the issue?
