Not sure how accurate this is. My dealer (Hawaii) confirmed that my M/T is scheduled for a July build (delayed from this month).

That's a temporary VIN (letter in the last 6 digits), once you have an actual VIN then it should eventually move to F.

It arrived today..I think it was Dec 22 that I started this process...it was a long 4 months..especially the last month with all the parts shortages and cancelled orders. The buyer of my 2020 OR will be picking it up Saturday and I'll probably pick up the new one Monday.

Well, as someone who ordered his Tacoma (picking it up tomorrow!) without a test drive, I've been wondering about the whole auto transmission issue. I hope that it sucks for lead foots (I drive like a grandma--I'd say I floor it maybe once ever 2 years), people who do a lot of highway miles (I'm either in town or on a dirt road), people who tow (I never will), and not for me.

I'm coming from a 2014 Jeep Compass with a CVT, widely considered one of the worst transmissions in history, so I'm hoping this will be a step up in any case.

I know there are various tunes available, but not in my neck of the woods (although I know I could install it myself, I'd hate to brick my Tacoma and would only go that route if it was borderline unbearable).

Anyway, I'll report my thoughts on that when I post my glorious pictures of my glorious new Tacoma in a few days.

The auto transmission is a contentious issue for some. Driving around with one for 1.5 years it's a little odd. It's programmed to get the best MPG's and EPA. It always want's to up-shift quickly to keep the RPM's low. Instead of staying in a lower gear it will up-shift one gear and not quite have enough oomph then immediately downshift one gear. This happens quite often driving folks nuts. I call it "power cut". Also if you like to drive to keep squeezles from cutting in front of you, you have to always kinda stay on the throttle to keep up with the vehicle ahead of you. If you drive slow and relaxed it's adequate. I'm fine and used to it. Some not so much.

Enjoy your new truck. I still am.

Well, one reason is not a lot of people know how to drive a stick anymore. Its sad but true.

true, what is it they say... Having a manual transmission is like a millennial anti-theft device.

A manual would keep my wife and kids out of it but living in a suburb of NYC, with regular traffic I think I'd just be shifting a ton and it'd get annoying.

I work in Hoboken; Even Manhattan isn’t as bad as that with a manual during rush hour lol.

I’m crazy for getting rid of a Focus ST for the Tacoma as my daily for that commute…but I don’t want to miss the chance in case this is the last MT Tacoma (and I can’t keep both unfortunately…sigh).

Your enjoying 4/20 far too much. No incentive for anybody to offer rebates or great financing in current market, pipe dream from the past

Yeah, and I'm a wildlife photographer and can't imagine trying to pick the right gear and creep down the road while taking pictures out my window...
