Yep. I mean ground tenting is perfectly fine in summers. When you go to the mountains in fall and spring, it’s freezing temps at night.

Last weekend we went camping, was freezing temps at night, actually snowed. All I wore was pants, hoodie, t shirt, jacket and a toque. I felt nothing while sleeping up top, and I wasn’t super fucked up either.:D

They are pretty awesome though, it’s just a bit annoying every bro has one.

Sorry as I'm new here, but what are the sidewalls on your rig? I want to understand how easy they are to take off and on?

Mind sharing your lift tires/wheels etc? Your truck is sweet.

I have the rxt leaf pack on option 2 paired with firestone airbags and daystar cradles. When the camper comes off airbags get deflated.

No worries and no need to apologize!

The bedrack that I have is the CBI roof rack height bed rack, and it is not only the sides, but also top crossbars as well. It is 4 bolts per side that you could technically just take off then with a ceiling lift, remove it.

Used to sleeping like this, so when I go truck camping I usually just sprawl out in the bed with the tailgate down, sleep in the backseat if its raining, or if its for a couple days I'll bring my tiny backpacking tent. Usually not sleeping too long on wheeling trips though!

Nope. Montana, about 30 min outside of Butte. My buddy has a 60 acre parcel, surrounded by state land... very remote.

Fishing Goose lake is on my todo list.

Also not one for a RTT. My truck bed does just fine with a roll out memory foam pad. 9DB6E00F-2D4C-43EE-9819-7407DD26DE57.jpg9E0D7CA3-7280-4D2D-B09A-AE5B147231C8.jpg

So just....photos of us camping I guess? Haha

For me, much of the reason why I don't go Rack + RTT is because of how much I love my @DiamondBack Covers - it's seriously just the multi use champ. Best thing I've owned alongside the truck. Losing the functionality would suck.

3 different times...setups have changed, but one with the canoe is most recent.

I have used TNF Talus 3 for about 6 years. Backpack, portage, and car camp with it. RTT would be nice, but anytime I'm camping with my truck, I kind of prefer to have the sleep space separate so I can come and go as I please. The only thing I've been considering is a Super Pacific, but that really only benefits me on long road trips.
