Has anyone replaced their rear window? More specifically has anyone purposely replaced the rear window to go from a sliding to a fixed? I hate sliding rear windows. I'm pretty sure I'll just go to Safelite but I wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts to share before I do.

Yes, I removed my tinted slider and replaced with an un-tinted slider, this was done as I did not want two tinted glass sections when I put on a utility top. I had done this on Chevy trucks before with solid clear glass and it was easy. Getting the Tacoma rear window out was a bear, installation was no different from any other rear window. The factory not only put adhesive on the pinch weld but added copious amounts to the area outside the pinch weld. The access hole the slider produces is miniscule in these trucks, only a child could climb through. I, like you, should have replaced with solid glass.

Looks like they have a access cab, so I think theirs would be manual open.

I wonder if the old 2nd gen reg cab window fits, but probably hard to find.

I did this on my f150 as well, found a limo tinted one, was way easier than a tacoma to do.

Of course, or more accurately Urethaned in. Easy installation job after cutting the remaining urethane back to an acceptable level.

No, dumped it in the dump a few weeks ago. The removal process with Toyota's use of too much Urethane made it a destructive process. I wanted to keep the slider but it was too far gone.
