Got bit by the bike bug. Posted here a month or two back about how I picked up a 2010 Giant Trance 2 for cheap to get my feet wet on mtb's again, I got hooked and quickly realized how much I hated the size small (I was in between S and M), 26" wheels and 3x9 gearing. Made a leap to a 2018 GT Sanction Pro in a medium. First time with a dropper post, 27.5" wheels and first time riding a 1x11 and I'm absolutely in love. Came home at dark last night and the picture with the Tacoma came out blurry so the picture with my other car will suffice. I wanted a do-all bike that'll handle some pedaling on CT trails, that will also double up as a bike park weapon and I think this may be the one.

Aside from cosmetics, is there any risk of more serious frame damage, like cracks or carbon delaminating due to moisture or UV, from the clear coat coming off?

I'd say no. but I'm no expert... I'd also just run it ...

Buttttttttttttt if you are trying to get a fresh frame for new bike day.... worth a shot. Downside like you said that means lots of new parts for new frame if you got it.

There really shouldn't be other than cosmetics. I think the clear coat coming off is primarily from sweat (my clear coat is only coming off on the top tube area).

Anyone use the 1Up license plate holder?

I'm finally ordering the EZ Pull and I'm contemplating the plate holder as well. My rack is on 6 months of the year so leaving the plate on the rack isn't a big deal.

Any strong opinions on it for or against? I know it's not really necessary. I figure that it is cheaper than a ticket for an obscured plate.....but those tickets are rare anyway.

I've seen people get decals for the plate# on their racks. I and mf GF have used racks folded up for years without issue.

I have not heard of problems with plate visibility but there is a town in Maine (maybe Old Orchard Beach?) that is notorious for issuing tickets because bikes in the rack block the tail-lights. I’m surprised 1up hasn’t come out with a light set yet. I just took their survey about interest in anodized bling for their products.

Ha. Yeah. You can buy essentially the same thing at any auto parts/trailer parts store for like $20. May just not fit as nice. Definitely not worth the money to me.

I was pulled over once for obscured taillights but to be fair I had two track bikes with disc wheels on the rack and was driving at night. The lights were 100% covered. That's a pretty rare scenario.

Does anyone have a line on the 200hr service kit for the SID ultimate? Why are these kits a fucking unicorn? About ready to head down the road and knock on ROckShox HQ door.

I have some people that work there.. I just hate pulling that move. I’d rather not waste their time, but son of a bitch, you can buy a dozen complete forks and not one seal kit ‍♂️
