Running without the air filter is a sign of a common saw issue. Clean the carb and the fuel filter and make sure you can get it to run with the filter.

Vehicles definitely lack soul these days. I’m with Jeremy Clarkson in that cars should have names that reflect their soul. A car a title like gts480i is like giving a child a barcode for a name.

So of course none of the shops around me have any rebuild parts/kits (I'm sure I'm due to change out the fuel filter...), plus I need to break it down and figure out why it's pouring oil out the bottom!!!!

Confession time...I hadn't run this one since I got the m18 (just too easy to pop a battery in and go!) almost 2 years ago, give or take. I figured I'd grab a few fresh cans of pre-mixed gas before I head out of the office today.

FYI: She'll continue to run once the filter is back on, and the initial startup was with the filter on...might try to pull the carb out and see what I can see, though apparently they say not to just hit it with carb or brake parts cleaner as it can harden something (I've been reading and watching whatever I can last night and at lunch today)...we shall see, but I've got to throw on the new chain on it and inspect the oil inlet (both for clog and if I need to fiddle with the oil adjustment screw).

 

Time to just light it on fire and push it down the hill.

 

I would just roll with the m18.

 

I'll go out and buy a new 20-inch saw just for this trip.

 

@the.sight.picture is coming over as well. I’m not sure if he ever got a saw. He was talking about getting something big.

 

I gotta hand saw that is down right awesome. Mofo is sharp as hell and will cut thru skin in a blink of an eye. Love this thing for stuff around the house stuff and job site.
