Couple of things but mainly I was struggling with the brick height to stud length ratio and his mockups helped clear that up for me. I was also trying to use the 2x2 and 1x2 modified bricks with the studs on the side and then covering them in tiles but the modified bricks are a weird size so that was throwing things off too.

It’s been a good build week here. These Harry Potter books are super frustrating and fragile, so we built it into a semipermanent play set. The creator shuttle, pirate ship, and, uh, racer plane are fabulous though.

I think the only designer set I'm honestly bummed about not having is the little airplane diorama thing. The prices are a little ridiculous and it jsut didn't seem worth it. But it was a neat little set.

I feel the same way. Yes, I understand why they're pricier than regular sets, I just don't want to shell out the cash.

Might Bricklink the parts for the Castle in the Forest someday, though. Won't have the sticker sheet, but some have said they've gotten just the bricks for less than the initial set price.
