Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

Well shit… haha I need to get all of my other stuff from you installed before I get this haha… I started on the lower pivots tonight. If you were wondering, yes the aluminum foil was a bad idea haha or pictures tomorrow.

 

Is that what you do to make them free bleeds?

What in the fawk is that contraption. 3 resis, like 6 bypasses. My goodness that thing is insane.

Why was the foil a bad idea? A lot of places, including the old California plant that made some of these Tacoma frames used foil to protect the frame jigs from slag build up.

 

When I did the first subframe kit I used foil and it caught on fire and melted the tie rod boots. Granted that was when I was plasma cutting the old tabs off. The last one I did I cut the sleeves off some old welding gloves and slid them over the tie rod and cb boots and it seemed to work well. I also didn’t plasma the second one

 

There was a couple times where my foil burned through just using cut off and grinding wheels. Even using that HD stuff lol.

 

I just took off the tie rods and cv’s for the extra room. Wasn’t too much extra work and made it a lot easier to cut the tabs off. At least with a grinder I needed the extra room.

 

I just set a piece of angle iron over the boots and used a cutting torch. No problems that I have noticed. Done just like a proper hillbilly. I did get fancy when I did the inner fenders and use a cut off wheel.

 

The reason it was a bad idea because it caught on fire like others stated. I just used some C channel I had laying around. It is going well though.

 

Pretty sure this was the least amount of fun I’ve had on this project thus far. But it’s done.

I’ll be starting on bumpers tomorrow.

 

So, the longer rod ends are working great on the ADS fronts.
Cycled good. I even cut and clearanced the fenders. We got into beer time and whiskey and called it. I should be able to get it on its own weight tomorrow.

I hope you Flagstaff guys are doing alright with the blaze happening there. Not a good sign this wildfire business is happening this early.

 

Im south of it, closer to city part. Snowsk8air is closer but is fine.
As far as I know, it did take out 30 houses unfortunately. Maybe more. Sucks.
