And here we go! Picked her up this morning, tentative nickname is Lil' Red.

    WP_20220422_18_23_26_Pro.jpg WP_20220422_18_22_31_Pro.jpg WP_20220422_18_24_17_Pro.jpg

I would not have picked the red with blackout package (I know, I know, $500 for $30 worth of black lettering...), but daaaaaaang it is looking sweet.

Fantastic experience at Lithia Toyota of Missoula. Great salesperson, fair deal on my trade in (no haggling, just KBB, which was $1500 more than my next best offer, although of course probably $2000 less than I might have gotten with a private sale), very relaxed. Sales manager was just as great--no pressure, no techniques that insulted my intelligence, no hard sell. Just telling me what was available, etc. I bought the lifetime oil changes (2x per year) for $699 (I asked for a discount off the $799 list price). I imagine I'll get my money's worth (synthetic oil changes are running $60+ now), but really I bought it just to do my part ;-) they were so nice, right price, etc.

I was a little surprised to see GY wrangler TERRITORIES instead of ADVENTURES. They look fine, tough enough look and I can't hear a peep on the road. Not much information online about them; maybe they are a newer version of the same tire?

I'm sure this question has been answered before, but how long after a truck is built does the temp VIN stop working? My truck was scheduled to be built today. Plan on calling the dealer early next week to verify. A few of the week 12 builds I've been following no longer work, one of them being from the same dealer where I have mine on order. Still haven't seen anything on the kissmygrits site, but I have no idea what it means when a truck shows up on that site.

My truck was built on 4/11 and the temp vin stopped working on 4/21. Not sure if that’s typical or not

Picked up my ORDC premium and technology package in lunar rock today. December '21 build and drove 7 hours both ways from Denver to Omaha in absolutely heinous winds. Worth every mile. This thread has been awesome in keeping my sanity during the process so thanks guys. Coming from a '13 SR5 I'm hyped as fuck!

Ordered a manual transmission 2021 TRD Pro Lunar Rock in April 2021 at three dealers. After a month of waiting, they all announced they couldn't put their hands on one and Toyota had stopped taking orders for the model year. My down payment was transferred to a 2022 in May at one of the dealership (picked Lime when colors were officially announced a bit later). It arrived on Saturday and will be delivered to me on Wednesday. Quite the long wait. Learned a few things about allocation along the way.

    None yet.....
I took a chance and booked my ticket already. It's amazing how few direct flights there are from Sacramento, CA to Vegas. I paid extra and got one that can be refunded or changed at any time, just in case. Even booking when I did it was hard to find one. My assumption is both our trucks will be on the same transport to the dealer, whichever day they arrive. I hope you love yours once you get it.

So I’m picking the truck up tomorrow morning. We haven’t even discussed the price (beyond the fact that it’s the $1,500 “Paint Protection” markup + fees, and not a penny more. But they haven’t appraised my car yet, since they said they have to wait until the truck comes in.

Any advice on how to get the most for my car? And any negotiation tactics on my end? When I bought the ST in 2016, I paid $100 above dealer invoice + taxes/fees. I don’t see that happening here lol. But any advice is appreciated!

Check with carmax and carvana to get a trade in price, otherwise you are at the mercy of the dealership an they aren't in the business of helping you.

I guess there’s a support group for everything… I just submitted an “order” for a TRD Sport on 4-18. Dealer said it will be 4-6 months but admitted it wasn’t an exact science.

When did you submit your request and get an allocation for your truck? Have an allocation waiting at this dealer and was curious

I put my deposit for a TRD Pro White MT on January 26 and today (April 23), I was told by the Inventory Manager that all MT's were possibly going to get pulled because of a "transmission reconfiguration". He told me to call him next week as he will have more details.
    Anybody else heard about that??

Yeah we have been hearing this but did not know the reason. Specifically that there was not going to be any more new M/T allocations.

MSRP + $1,595 for their Ibex protection garbage. The price of the truck wasn’t the issue, but they only offered me $12k for my trade-in, which is selling for $20-25k. So I couldn’t do that to myself, and unfortunately I don’t have the funds to buy the truck AND hold onto my car while I wait for a buyer.

So back to the drawing board for me. I’m really disappointed :(
