Favorite Whiskey?

Every time I see someone on here snag Weller my heart breaks just a little bit more. Hasn’t been available in my area for years.

If anyone wants to trade me a Weller for something I do have access to…

Smoke Wagon?
Sazerac Rye / Buffalo Trace?
Michter’s?

Drive south, I can find it fairly regularly. Or I can grab an extra next time I see it

 

Vacationed in Hilton Head recently. I called every liquor store in Hilton Head, Savannah, and in between here and there, including military installations, nothing.

 

Hello fellow Taco owners, I'm new to the scene. I thought I'd make a post here to the whiskey thread. This is not my favorite, but more of a what am I drinking right now... here we go.

 

Is that the grenade Blanton's, the one you can only get at the distillery? Cool. Would love to get my hands on one of those!

 

How are you liking those? Personally I haven't had much luck with Wisconsin distilleries except for Great Lakes. I did get a barrel proof from Yahara Bay that is quite good so maybe it's time to take another look at local.

 

I hear u. I wanted to try them but will not buy them again. Drinkable!

 

I got it at Total Wine out here in Colorado. It's just the basic Blantons single barrel as far as I know. It is pretty tasty!

 

Thought it was one of the small bottles. I read you can only get them at the distillery, but have found out you can get the 50ml size in a few states.

 

I got lucky and was picked in the Total Wine drawing. As a big fan of the Old Forester offerings in general, I'm pretty excited about this guy:

 

Don't know if it's the glass, but that juice is dark! Love anything Old Forester so I'm sure that it's good stuff. Nice score

 

I have a few 375s of Blantons, got through my state, they also just did an online drop this week of them

the 50ml randomly pop up online as well

 

The bottle is brown glass. Although I did just notice that the plastic seal creates an optical illusion making it look like the plastic is clear glass and the bottom of the seal is the top of the liquid.

 

There is so much expensive whiskey pics posted on here I feel like Im on a Bentley forum not Tacoma one..lol

 

Yep…. We showed you ours…. I certainly could post pics of Old Tub or Mellow Corn, don’t think for a second I don’t own $20 bottles. But like all things on the interwebs. We put our best foot forward. FWIW, I like a wide range of bourbons…. But yes mostly post pics of the more recognizable ones make for better posts.

I just finished my bottle of Rare Breed Rye as I’m typing this. I think it’s time to open something new.

 

I tried two new ones for the first time this weekend. Weller is very good, but this Peerless is the Tits McGee. If you see it, get it. A little pricy but fan-friggin-tastic.

 

Local Twin Liquors had a handle of Weller SR hidden in the store as an "Easter Egg". They hid it and some other stuff the Saturday before Easter, and I nearly knocked it over as I was walking down the mixer aisle. $45 brought it home.

 

I think I’m gonna start posting my daily drink with dinner…will get no likes
