So you were able to obtain the trim ring/gasket from the dealer? Which silicone or sealant did you use if any?

 

yeah they did the recall.Permatex Rtv sealant which was what I used on the oem light when the bolt came loose two years ago.

Like most days... nothing at all

 

I did it myself, have it parked outside in the sun to help these last few wrinkles relax

 

1st project of the day hauled 1 yard of wood chips for the garden

 

So after cleaning out the box installed my Bestop that I took off my second gen, also pictures of the black badge overlays and the black letters in the tailgate

 

What circlip setting did you put the front shocks at?

 

I didn't do jack today. But I recently got a new phone, which means the quality of my "truck photos" has drastically improved. Haha

 

I hit and cracked my taillight with a piece of lumber a few months back and decided to de-chrome the taillights while I was at it. Super easy install with the OEM TRD pro lights $130 each from McGeorge Toyota bulbs included. They look so much better, especially with the Army Green.

 

What's the deal with the nuts and bolts?? I hear that on all tacoma's aftermarket 3rd lights.

Damn that looks so much better! Wonder if my wife would believe me if I accidentally broke my taillights...

 

This particular light has a shorter bolt than the oem one. So it is hard to align the nut if you are just gonna undo the two hooks that hold the headliner. What I did was align the socket with the nut in it to the hole. Then grab your light and align the bolts to the hole and then start turning the socket to grab the treads of the bolt. Do not tighten the first nut. Just make sure it wont fall off the bolt. Then do the other bolt and nut the same way.

 

Installed a custom Taco Vinyl grille badge this evening. Took all of 5 minutes.



Also did the LED lighting upgrade for the interior and license plate lights. Just have to do the tail lights now.

 

I had some switches from aob and ch4x4, like winch, fog, driving etc. then aob made the blue to better match. So I just had to replace them all.

 

Damn! good price! I might have to call them to make sure it fits my truck.. says it wont fit a 2021 offroad.. afaik all 3g are compatible

Anyone know of a site that compares all the parts departments for in stock + best price?

 

I do have one of those. It's hard to tell in pictures when the chrome in the slot out shines it.

 

Did the same and the best part it adds 5 hp.
