Time to put one thing inside the other

Also, best method I’ve found to remove a sway bar yet.

    366B277E-755B-41C0-AE19-6A5DFE4E4FA5.jpg
Step 1: unbolt the sway bar
Step 2: cut the fucker in half so you don't have to noodle it around everything because it's a stupid shape.

Made use of otherwise wasted space on my bed rack and installed a storage chest, and got rid of the box on the roof :bananadance:

Might get a chest for the other side, too...

In case you are storing a midget inside, and they need to let themselves out for something during the night.

Good question...was wondering that myself

Works good for a bungie to keep the wind from blowing it closed, though

All you had to do was unbolt the support braces that hold the skid plate and it would fall right onto the ground.

BTW are you shitcanning those stock upper UCA's? I'm still trying to figure out if I ripped my upper ball joint boot or what caused it to goosh all over my spindle after only 10K miles. Worst case I could refresh one that's off the truck and then swap it out.

This was faster and sway bars are best suited for trash cans anyways.

And yeah, ucas are headed the way of the sway bar. You’re welcome to them if you pick em up or pay for shipping. Have 110k miles on them.

    @Sixthelement @TailHook @llibrm

Alright. I realized that my carb is in fact a Quadrajet. :facepalm:Not sure how I missed that. Its possible that I even knew it two years ago and forgot ha. So I spent the last few days researching quadrajets, how to tune them etc. Watched a bunch of vids and tore into the thing yesterday. Managed to purposely detune the carb and tune it back to running correctly. I was pretty proud of myself so I took it for a spin and the same shit happened.:frusty:

Back to the drawing board(internet) I went and I came across this website Cliffs High Performance. Apparently Cliff is the guy in the q-jet world. He's active on his own forum and is a wealth of information. So Im snooping around the "diagnose a q-jet problem" forum and WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE!?! I finally find a guy whos Suburban is behaving the exact same way as my Blazer. Runs around town just fine, cant cruise on the highway for more than a few minutes without bogging down and eventually dying. He went way farther down the diagnosis road than I did and what solved his problem? A faulty mechanical fuel pump. In fact, it was one he had recently replaced. He seemed to have replaced literally every part in the trucks fuel system and one day decided to pull the fuel pump which fell apart in his hands even though it was a few weeks old.

Here is where my Blazer comes in. When I originally bought it 2 years ago it definitely had some recent work done which included the rebuilt carb and a new fuel pump. Naturally I assumed a new or nearly new fuel pump would be just fine. Since that guys symptoms were so identical to mine I said fuck it and bought a new Delco fuel pump from Autozone for $20 and threw it on this morning and..... IT WORKS

    IT FUCKING WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took no time at all to install the new pump, truck fired right up, ran a little rough so I adjusted the idle speed and voila. Drove all the way to Flagstaff this afternoon at 65mph with no issues whatsoever. I couldnt be happier. Well, it got 7.9mpg on the way here so theres a little room for improvement ha.

    *speedo is not accurate

HELL YA!! Thats awesome that it was something simple. Plus you found a good source of info for the carb and its system.
Now, just need to learn how to tune it for up here in the high elevation. Then what needs to be done when you drop down back to 1-2000ft elevation or lower.
F ya! Gonna have to check it out soon!

Its always nice when its something simple. Not only to source but also to replace. The Q-Jet should be easy enough to adjust. Find the jet sizes and keep spares. When you travel at lower elevations, swap 'em out. Shouldn't take ten minutes. Or tune slightly fat for the mountains a lean of peak for the valley. That's how I have my car tuned. Runs great on the trips back and forth between AZ and CO.

My weekend Eff up was a great success. Things I am learning with my Tacoma. In the slow process of converting my 2wdAC to 4x4. I'm learning a whole bunch, like I thought I would cut a corner and knock out the 4x hub install real quick on Saturday. Little did i know you need the CV axles and the clam shell to complete this process... Everyone bolts snug together when install in the correct order. We i just wanted to knock out the hubs and well now Ill get to do rotors, calipers, pads ,and tie rod ends as well as put my stock hub bk in to drive it... Dont punish me too bad i had a good laugh when i made it two miles before my ties went seperate ways!67245553210__BACFFCCD-02A7-4FA3-9653-7CA50ACC97CB.jpg IMG_5853.jpg IMG_5857.jpg IMG_5855.jpg IMG_5858.jpg
