What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

What's the deal with the nuts and bolts?? I hear that on all tacoma's aftermarket 3rd lights.

Damn that looks so much better! Wonder if my wife would believe me if I accidentally broke my taillights...

 

This particular light has a shorter bolt than the oem one. So it is hard to align the nut if you are just gonna undo the two hooks that hold the headliner. What I did was align the socket with the nut in it to the hole. Then grab your light and align the bolts to the hole and then start turning the socket to grab the treads of the bolt. Do not tighten the first nut. Just make sure it wont fall off the bolt. Then do the other bolt and nut the same way.

 

Installed a custom Taco Vinyl grille badge this evening. Took all of 5 minutes.



Also did the LED lighting upgrade for the interior and license plate lights. Just have to do the tail lights now.

 

I had some switches from aob and ch4x4, like winch, fog, driving etc. then aob made the blue to better match. So I just had to replace them all.

 

Damn! good price! I might have to call them to make sure it fits my truck.. says it wont fit a 2021 offroad.. afaik all 3g are compatible

Anyone know of a site that compares all the parts departments for in stock + best price?

 

I do have one of those. It's hard to tell in pictures when the chrome in the slot out shines it.

 

Did the same and the best part it adds 5 hp.

Has a restaurant ever moved into where Latitudes used to be in Pacific Grove? My wife and I used to eat there often and we were bummed when it closed. We always stayed at Seven Gables Inn. What a great location.

 

I’ve always had luck simply asking my local dealership to match the lowest Toyota internet price I could find. Show them the price on the site. Shipping is usually free if it’s shipped to the dealership. Some quality donuts go a long way with the parts guys..

 

Yeah I just meant it would be nice if I could compare the prices to find the best deal easier. The parts dept said no last time I asked if they price match. Change over in ownership though so maybe I should try that again

Not yet. I’ll cruise by there tomorrow and check it out. I think they may be a microbrewery moving in. I’ll let you know for sure tomorrow. Across the street in what used to be the old Bath House restaurant is now the Beach House restaurant. Seven Gables Inn will probably be there forever, gotta love the old Victorians.

Yes an update would be great... I assume Latitudes shut down because of Covid but not certain.

We ate at the Beach House a few times and drank at the bar many times. We used to go to Pacific Grove several times a year before moving to So Cal in 2020. I remember that location was closed for years. The word I got was it was shut down because they had no ADA access. I know the Beach House has an elevator now. If that story is true it sure sucks to shut down a business for that.... but it is Nor Cal after all.

 

Link to where you got that please? Not sure I like how its squared off but then again I never liked how others I saw were spiked ... I think I like squared better. ... I plan on painting my scoop black with satin clear over the top one of these days. I think your TRD decal would really compliment that.

 

The new place is ADA compliant but has been vacant of course for a few years now. I’d drive by and see work in progress one day and then nothing for months, really odd. But then again, the city is really slow with inspections due to staffing/funding. There are a lot of intersections in neighborhoods that are having the corner curbs being redone with wheelchair access right now as well. I’ll try to get some pics for you.
