Underlayment? What's that? My tile roof is just tile on battens. Freaked me out when we bought the house.

Underlayment is something to protect from element from rain, snow, etc.. which is sitting between plywood and shingles/tiles.

Just like this: (When you build new house)

Place truss on top of house
    Place plywood on roof
Place underlayment on plywood starting from bottom to top.
Place shingles/tiles starting from bottom to top.

If you have chimney, then check for flash to make sure no damage or leak for old houses If new house, then new flash around the chimney.

Same flash method for skylights if available on roof.

Done... You have nice roof up there.

Underlayment can be done for flooring as well if you plan to have hardwood flooring. For carpet, underlayment (or pad depends how soft you want.)

    You're not

Around here people don't know what trusses are

95% of new houses are hand framed

I used to work for a company when I was younger. We built trusses and placed them on semi trailers (flat bed) so the drivers deliver them to the new home sites.

Some say trusses, some say rafters.

I know what you meant.... some people do frame them by hand and some houses have already made and put on there by crane.

Around here, trusses are usually being delivered to new home sites and they use crane.

Depends on builder office that they decide to use trusses or have builders/framers build trusses by hand.

Quick little project today. Finally moved the dryer beside the washer. Put the receptacle in a metal handybox that looks better IMO. Still need to move the cistern pressure tank over a little bit, but it all still works for now. Also seem to have misplaced my clamps to better secure the wire. I'll get some of those tomorrow.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
That is great looking! We had someone install chain link. He did it for appx $500 more than I could, and it was done when we got home from a trip. I added 5 & 6 foot wooden fence on the other side after we had our barn done.

My washer and dryer are plugged into the same outlet in the laundry room. Twice now while both are running, they tripped the 20A breaker. There's nothing else on the circuit and the plugs are seated all the way in. Is there anything else I should check before calling in an electrician?

This is what my A/C looked like an hour ago. Anyone in here know how this happens and how to keep it from happening again?

Obviously, I shut off the A/C immediately so it could thaw out.

I change the filter once a month on the first of the month.

I don't know when the last time it was serviced, and it's an '02 model
