75w transfer case oil vs. 75w-85

    Product I use and swear by is amzoil . Obviously my rear end I took pretty far . The drain magnet impressed me for sure . Not much metal . The rear end gear oil stunk like normal gear oil. No burnt smell . As it drained it didn't look as dark. Preach all you want I swear by amsoil . The transfers look great. I've could have went longer but I have a big trip coming up next week on Thursday.

    I have a pan . I did f up and and made a huge mess lol. I like inspecting the gear oil so I can judge intervals of change . I keep a log book in my glove box. I also wanted other members to see the results through a clear container.

    So I'm gonna do better job at changing rear diff fluid . Probably end of summer I'll do another fluid change. Fyi I DRIVE A LOT!!!!!!!

    Hmmm. I, like you, also used Amsoil for differentials and transfer case. I used the 76W-90 for all three. I recall the fluid color to be light- almost clear. Where’s the red tint from the transfer case coming from? Did you use ATF?

    C4Fab LoPro, BAMF Sliders, Ext ADS 2.5’s, 4.88's, OVTune (OG to KDMax)
    Amsoil is by far the best oil I’ve used. The color is always lighter after the same change interval than any other oil I have used. I use it for engine oil and rear diff oil. Cannot be beat

    You need a drain pan my dude…

    Split the difference and consider what I use. You will still be able to assess your fluid.

    so the transfer case in person looked more gold to me I do see in the photo it looks reddish.

    i wanna use for engine oil just i drive a lot for work and leisure. amsoil make me go broke lol. 6 pints at my local parts store for gear oil was $142. Hay cheaper than the stealership

    its one of those i have a snow wheeling elk shed hunting trip last minute things . I know I shoulda planned it better but i didnt shame on me lol its all good .
