Just like a fair bit of "Yellowstone" was shot in the Park City, UT area.

Yeah, it's really unfair to the 4% that aren't :p

Belarussian "Ring Plane" aka the "Narushevich Ring Wing". The looped wing is an "Annular Wing"

Long fascination with the Doolittle Raid. I did a report on it for a history class in high school. Read the book. My dad had a friend who liked aviation history, let me borrow a bunch of books that detailed all of the prep they did to the planes. Think I bored everyone with my presentation but it was just one of those cool stories that started with "this probably isn't going to work but we're going to do it anyways" and I got carried away. I'm sure none of those guys expected to come home and they still went and did it.

Also, I found a fly in campground. Who wants to come to MT and take me camping? Surrounded by 25 miles of wilderness in every direction. 8k ASL peaks.
you can see the planes parked in the trees

the Cardinal could do it for sure! You got tundra tires for that thing?
Flight Aware doesn't have any details but I'm guessing that's because its probably under several feet of snow right now

Don’t know if this angle was known when you did your paper so here it is just in case.

BTW, right there with you with the admiration and gratitude for the crews. One of the most ballsy, “Fuck You” missions in military history :oldglory:

Just a heads up to prevent disappointment if you haven’t already experienced this yet but Cardinals (C177) and Bussinesliners (C195) lack wing struts which makes them tough to push around on the ground in the bush. They’re still great performing airplanes, but ground handling is a little trickier without those push/ pull points.

I flew a T210 quite a bit. No wing struts there, either. Held my breath every time I raised or lowered the gear too.

    We manage

When I fly to grass strips I try to make sure I park in a way that I don’t need to move it by hand
