Very nice build! Have you posted the trailer plug relocation bracket STL file anywhere, or would you consider sharing it? Seems like it would be a nice mod!

    Thanks for the compliment.

I haven't yet if you want to pm me an email to send it to Id be happy to send it over. Seems like the site doesn't allow posting stls. Make sure to print it out of a heat and water resistant material like PETG.

I printed and tried to mount the trailer plug relocation bracket on my 2015 TRD OR DCSB. Alas it doesn’t fit, perhaps because of a combination of the nuts that are welded onto the bracket, and my 265/75r16 spare. I wonder if the OEM bracket is also closer to the centerline on my truck which would also reduce the clearance. I’m not sure that there’s enough room without offsetting the mounting location further towards the outside of the truck.

I might try designing a modified version at some point. I’m also an engineer :) (chemical, though i switched to software and computer graphics many years ago).

Ah that sucks, I made that about a year ago but I believe it fit without any issue on mine, looking at pics it seems mine doenst have the welded nuts on it. Let me know if you want anymore files or dimensions. I use solidworks and would be happy to provide anything I can.

Thanks, stay tuned I'm working on getting a welder to start fabbing up bumpers and probably some skids this summer. Looking to build a tube rear bumper first I think.

Heck yeah I’d love to follow along!! I actually just bought a welder and plasma cutter to do a few projects on the truck here shortly. I’m def not a welder by any means but look forward to honing in the skill; can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Btw what kind of printer are you using? Do you recommend it?

Too funny, I just got a plasma in the mail today. I also certainly won't be the best welder but I do have a good understanding on how to make things strong.

As for printers I actually have 3, I first got a flashforge finder which I do not recommend, small print volume, no heated bed as well as being very expensive for what it is.

The next printer I got was a sidewinder x1 which I absolutely would recommend if you have the space. It is a large format printer so It can print about 11" x 11" x 15" and I have been printing for over a year with no catastrophic issues. I print a lot too.

The last printer I got I think is a bargain, it fits inside the build volume of the sidewinder and its the kingroon kp3s. It prints almost as good as the sidewinder at half the cost and I think it is designed much better.

What size parts are you thinking of printing? What kind of budget are you thinking? Are you comfortable working on things?

If anyone's interested I can put up some pictures of my printed non-tacoma projects.

    V2 of fog light setup

I wasn't happy that the V1 fogs were yellow not amber so I got some more Amazon fogs that were actually amber here.

Instead of using a part of the stock toyota housing I just designed and printed the whole thing. It took 3 test prints before it eventually fit.

Again I printed it out of black PETG sense it was not an issue in V1. Ignore the blueish headlights, they're white but the HID's were not warmed up.

Best most expensive mod to date. Finished my last exam last night, graduation coming up soon, already working at my postgrad job.

Now ready to get back to camping.
