Are you asking about the multi tool grinder? I've got one with an 8 inch wheel.

I'd never sharpen a blade like that though. That's a good way to get hurt AF

Might have a leak. Need to get it serviced. You can thaw that by just running fan for a couple hours.

*edit also check drains for obstructions. One of our houses did that and the refrigerant was low. Also big temp changes would cause it to happen more. So if your house is 80° drop it slowly to 70° couple degrees every half hour.

The multi tool grinder looks really useful -- and really expensive!

It's not expensive. It's just an attachment for a grinder.

They don't make the 8 inch version anymore and buying 2x48 belts in nearly impossible for me so I go to Harbor Freight and buy the 6x48 belts and cut them down to 2 inch widths and get 3 belts out of one.

It is a brilliant attachment for sure!

I'm confused about what the problem is with the heat pump.

Are you worried about the frost on the pipe?

Why is there a drain on the heat pump? There is nothing that needs drained.

As near as I can tell from the pic, you are missing a bit of insulation on the tube, hence the frost.

    Please elaborate.

    The drain where?
It's not a heat pump. The A/C has been running all day and towards evening the temp in the house kept increasing. That's what it looked like before I shut it off. I figured that being frozen was not allowing the compressor to function properly?

You have no air flow across the indoor coil as I’m sure it has a sheet of ice on it as well. There is either a Freon leak and or dirty air filter

There should be a pan under wherever the condesor is in the house. Drain usually comes out of the side house. Thats not as big issue as low refrigerant.

We used to run fan only for couple hours. Will thaw quicker. Then take the temp down slowly.

Check and see if the cooling coil in your furnace is iced up -- caused by low air flow from dirty filters or obstructed vents in the living space, often rugs or furniture is the problem, they all need to be open.

Check and see if the drain for the cooling coil is clogged -- air conditioning keeps us comfortable by dehumidifying, the moisture in the air condenses on the cooling coil, it needs to be able to drain away.

If the coil is found to be iced up correct the problem and set the unit control to "fan only" this will speed up melting all that ice. Don't set the unit control to "cool" until the coil is ice free.

Sorry. We call the condensers heat pumps. They pump the heat from your house to the environment.

If you have no cool air coming out your registers, most likely your A coil is frozen over.

Like said above. Run just the fan on your furnace to thaw the block of ice encasing the A coil.

Again, blocked filter, small leak or low Refrigerant charge, like said above.

    Has it been unusually humid?

Check your indoor unit fan motor to make sure it’s running

Also prob has the older refrigerant. It can be serviced but many places are phasing out of the older stuff. So can be harder to find. We just went through that back in oct

The part on the right, commonly called the "A coil", is what ices over, the pan under it is where the condensation collects. If it can't drain it will freeze up in short order.

The condenser drain is working properly and the drain pump is fine.
I figure the A coil is frozen, so I did turn on the unit fan.
It hasn't been humid, but the past 2 days have been 80°±.

    Most likely low refrigerant.
