Any SE fellas going to the Coldwater Enduro late May?

 

Been meaning to get out and hit El Prieto? how was is it?

 

I found out the hard-way that the Go Nuts crew was set up in Newnan this weekend. Just the XC. Obviously no terrain here for Enduro.

Should be a fun event at Coldwater. They have several stops in the SE over the next few months.

I don’t race, at least not currently. You making the trek?

 

So been trying to get myself ready for race next weekend... Had designs on laying down a few miles and riding from my house down to the beach meeting up with wife and kids. Pulled my sled out and noticed back tire was low again. I have had a puncture that doesn't want to seal up on my Dhr2 it will be good for a few rides and then it decides it's going to piss out all my sealant. I've got a few tires on my old wheel set... A smoked 2.3 dhr2 or 2.5 Assegai.... Naturally, I went with the most XC option.. I'll take what is rolling resistance for $1000, Alex.

Some parts are definitely a challenge and some are even discontinued in the homeland. It all depends on model. I had a front drivers side window regulator go out (common) and had to order one from Japan. Other stuff for my car have cross compatibility with USDM models (i.e. it's very very similar to the Lexus IS300 so the whole front suspension is the same, along with the rear end minus the subframe itself. Shoot me a message if you have any specific questions!

Always up for some good spots! I've been driving all around CT to notable trails. Did Norbrook Brewery in Colebrook CT on Saturday (about 50min) and Paulk Hill in Tolland CT yesterday (30min). I'd be willing to check out the Danbury area for some fun flowy singletracks

 

Yeah, my gf signed up for the race. I'm not into racing but ill be up there I guess lol.

 

PBR and tacos if available. Get some water and carbs in quick (PBR) then up your motivation with tacos!

I need to get back on the bike and get ready for FTB! Been in a shoulder season warm during the week, then rainy on the weekends so the trails haven't been great.

 

I’m friends with a lot of people who do race. Most of them just do it to support and as a great way to get together. You should throw a leg over the bike and hangout with them. Most of these guys aren’t pretentious and very inviting.

 

Yeah dude. Pbr is good but GOOD tacos are even better. FTB is prob not happening, getting that elbow surgery soon. I'll be off the bike for at least 4-5 weeks . But we'll see.

 

Don't push it, but you're more than welcome to come and heckle on a stage if nothing else. Bring MORE COWBELL.

UPS just dropped off those same tires at my house. Trying out some different options and figured I’d give the tan-wall look a go.

 

That’s awesome! I’ve been working on my heckle game, taking cues from CX racing! Of course, I have to sensor my heckles for NICA races, don’t want to scar the kids!
I’ll note also that the hand gesture is not directed at anyone in particular, just the standard photo pose for my idiot friends.
Forgot to mention…critical element of my heckle game is loud Ska on a JBL extreme speaker and newly added party lights! Kids don’t really know what to make of me out there, often elicit confused smiles…

Just did a quick road spin to help slosh the sealant around the tires and the shoulders are still covered in winter sand and holy $hit the tires were really throwing it
