1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

Apparently BMW is dropping manuals in the Mini so there's a slight chance my build may get screwed. Hopefully know in the next week or so. Currently stuck in production queue.
If it gets dropped for orders that are already in that would suck and I'd have to cancel.
If so I feel like going full masochist and buying a 912.

 

Yeah that would be rough since it's a FWD platform you can't even get the amazing 8HP automatic from ZF. either. It's a very uncomfortably small car, but the Mark V supra is getting a manual now and that B58 engine is great.

 

I did see that they were giving the Supra a manual, wonder why it took a while?
If Mini had the ZF I wouldn't mind as much, I've never heard anyone complain about that box. I'm hoping since I'm in that it means I won't be on the chopping block. It seems like a supply issue and that its making vehicles harder to complete and get out so they're just axing em. If I'm good though it'll be one of the last production JCWs with a manual, so thats somethin.

(Think new Nissan Z pushed Toyota toward the manual for it?)

 

Well that wheeling trip gave me FOMO.

Need to take my front 3rd out to asses the damage before I decide what to do
