I still remember those mud flaps with reflective disc shapes, some red, some with yellow…. More for the “flashy” looks…lol

Trimmed my flaps, didn't like the lip at the bottom catching and packing snow - or getting torn off in the rocks, but still need to keep the gravel off the side of the truck.

After this winter I am thinking I am going to run mine seasonally. Put them on for the snow bits.

But my paint is already smoked, so it’s not like the mud guards are going to be the game changer.

I have been going back and forth between rally armor universal flaps, tuffskinz and rokblokz. I don’t know which one I will end up with. The tuffskinz are the least expensive. The rally armor would take some extra work. Seems like rokblokz has some problems with the exhaust on the pro from ‘21 - 22’ (deforming due to best from the exhaust pipe).

But don't you work in the aggregates industry? Grab a hunk of old conveyor belting and make your own.

    You're welcome.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I work at the corporate lab, but I could call our nearest plant and ask for a section of belt. Just have to write up a process improvement experiment to justify free mudflaps.

Better yet, I could borrow a flap from motorpool the next time one of our Cat 797s goes in for maintenance. By the time I get it downsized, free flaps for me and my 10 closest friends. Just have to pay freight to get it here. :cookiemonster:

Definitely in favour for mudflaps. Great for your paint, great for the people behind you on the road and highways. I want something rigid yet flexible so Rokblokz will very likely be my purchase eventually.

Vain question, but how close to or past your fenders are your tires? I have skinny 33s and they sit deep into my fender wells with stock OR wheels and I worry the XL RokBlokz would just make me look like a moron. I've had my eyes on Rokblokz forever though and have never been able to decide on XLs or regulars but now that I'm likely having a quality control on my canopy... might as well protect it and the new truck.

Too bad you're several hundred miles away. I've got rolls of old belting just taking up space here, you could take as much as you need, no charge. The beauty of working for a small family owned company as opposed to a giant corporate entity, (and I've done both,) less paperwork.

And seriously, with a sharp knife and a steady hand you could make a decent set of flaps in any size you wanted. That's how I made bed mats for my company trucks before I semi-retired.

Man after seeing your pic I had to run out and check mine. lol. I didn’t want them digging into my paint. Mine are a different design so I'm good. ADCF568A-976F-4C8E-84B1-373E9C813F55.jpg

They're past the fender for sure. At the bottom they are almost 2" past. Probably only an inch or so past the widest part of the fender flares.

Sometimes I catch myself thinking they look ridiculous but they're not into bro-dozer territory. Most of the time I don't even notice the size of them.

The XLs really arent that much bigger than the regular size. My wife has the regular size Rokblokz on her 4Runner and they're less obvious but not by much.

I tried out the cheapie Rally Armor universal fit, but the are a little short for my application.

Come on mudflaps, you had one job lol. I got a set of the longer RA universals to put on but have got side tracked with other projects.

I didn’t like the way mudflaps and steps look. After the first week of owning the truck and listening to the loud pings of rocks and debris hitting the bottom of the doors, I bought some RekGens and liked them. I later lifted and put bigger tires on, as well as added sliders, so I had to take off the front flaps for clearance, but the sliders help to protect the body. I kept the back on and haven’t had trouble offroading or in snow with them. But I haven’t reversed into big rocks either. My tires throw some serious debris and the last thing I want is to hurt someone or to get rear ended. I also added the cut-in bed box for a compressor, so the flaps help keep the dust and mud/sand spraying a little more controlled.

E.J. I think those wrap around bumpers…adds the most protection for our rear “ends”…. Please we’re can we get one? Tacoma plastic bumpers? Useless and are really easy to damages…saw a YouTube video of a Tacoma bumper’s end got rip off…going up a small incline..
    I always believed..a bumper can get “ bump” and survive a scrape…NOT!

To really protect your rear fender..you really need to add bigger mud flats..like tractor trailers sizes? Lol…

Sadly the Tuffskinz wont fit my SR.

**These will not fit the SR Model or any Model without factory fender flares**
