Guess I'm done for then. I've got 7.5 years here because every place I've applied for and gotten anywhere with has ended up being a worst deal than what I've got. Which is kind of sad considering it's a low paying government gig...

Definitely sad but true. The only time I've ever gotten a significant raise was when I changed employers. This seems weird to me, being in the trades, but I guess that's how it is now.

Yep. Especially because recently a county councilman said at a public hearing that most of us work for them because we want to be civil servants, not because we're trying to make money to live.

    That nearly started a riot

But he's not wrong. If you want to make money have to be in the public sector. Well, unless you're in a high up governmental position and have no morals.

    Hey all,

    An overland/offroad event up north!

    KOAR 2022 (keweenawoverlandadventureretreat.com)

Not sure if you know about this event up in the UP of Michigan. It's in September in Copper Harbor at the tip of the Keweenaw. Explored up there this past September with my daughter and it is very cool. Would be nice to find some of the local spots to wheel up there. and hang out. They even have a SUBARU thing for Larry...

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Rola rack. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
I spent some time up in the Copper Harbor area last July and camped on the shore of Lake Superior. Beautiful area I definitely want to explore more of as there seems to be plenty of trails. Downside was was many were overgrown and it was pinstripe city.
