I looked into making the 2003 a long bed like others have done but after getting married and having kids it just wasn't feasible. I should have made the 1988 into a 4 door instead of putting the V8 and 8 lug axles under it :anonymous:

Tonneau. Gotta keep the snow out.

If you put a cap on it, why didn't you just get a 4R? :p

I bought a tonneau when I got my truck then found a used cap, recently sold the cap and put the tonneau back on. I like the open bed but also the ability to get stuff out of sight with the tonneau. The shell was nice too but limited what you could haul as far as height goes. It's one of those :annoyed:moments for me.

I see about equal number of Sports and ORs. Quite a few of the others also, including Pros. Except, I have not an Electric Lime one yet. That is quite telling this far into the model year.

A soft topper is the best of all solutions, IMHO.

When we were on Kauai, my wife joked about bringing her crochet stitch counter with her so she could keep track of how many Tacomas we saw.

FYI - Hawaii buys them at seven times the national average so they are literally everywhere.

While she was Tacoma spotting we were on the lookout for a Pro. Every time she thought she saw one it was a Sport.

We did end up seeing exactly ONE Pro. It was in the parking lot next to the condo we stayed at.

HI is pretty crazy for the Taco, Wrangler, and convertible Mustang scene. Perfectly suited for them all.

Having rented a convertible Mustang 3 years ago, I couldn't own one long term. Too low for me to comfortably get in and out of.

We got a Wrangler this last time because I've never driven one and I was determined to make it to a beach that's at the end of a washboard dirt road. Considering it only had about 25,000 miles on it, it was a horrible ride.

Yeah. 'Stangs and Wranglers are like that.

We had a convertible Saab years ago. I miss the topless fun and hope to get a Miata someday once we move and get a bigger garage / shop.

Cap, because hosing deer blood out the trunk of a 4R sounds...unpleasant :D

Caps are great when you need them -- and a total p-i-a when you wish you didn't have one.
Never had a tonneau, admired the Lomax tri-fold, great reviews, slick looking and priced accordingly.

Zero identification with a model is the way to keep the old, worn out debates down.

$180 Amazon roll up for the win, keeps all the junk in the bed when the ratchet straps holding all my junk in break :rofl:Otherwise, nice keeping everything dust/mud free/slight degree of security.

+ 1 on the great pic!!!

I tried to sell my tonneau and got no interest from things it should fit, one guy ask if it would fit a 1993 S-10 and sent me photos of his truck and another ask would it fit a Nissan Titan

I finally said forget it and unlisted it.

If you're into ATVs like RZRs.. check out this Ireland company that's modifying them into small trucks and even a car!

Yeah. I am expecting crazy stuff like that, but it needs to exit the building.
