I'd suggest resetting following the update, and following installation of the Maggy tune.

I do not know about the DI injectors + Flame Kernel tech, but I read your post last night and found it interesting.

Nonetheless, we don't want to be leaning out excessively in boost on a high compression motor. Enrichment is our friend.

Does anyone know if you have to take the SC off to add the boost gauge?? I know you have to access the rear of the SC (towards the firewall) in order to plug in a barb of some sort.....just trying to prep myself for the install.

The threaded port is on the back of the lower intake provided by Magnuson. You may want to use an 90 degree elbow and have it point toward the driver side of the truck. The install instructions specifically call out where this port is at (Page 52 step 191).

It's on the edge. At sea level, with intake / exhaust / headers i bet it would be on the limit. Higher elevations likely no issue.

I'm wondering if I have to take anything off to access the port. If not, this will make life a lot easier!

You should be able to access it with out taking anything off, but it is going to suck. It is easiest to access from the passenger side.

Thanks, But I could not find the Crank position one?

One I found interesting, is the AC stops working in high ambient temps (+100) when at idle for extended periods. Toyota fixes by adding an electric pusher fan and baffles and fillers to guide the air flow; plus control wiring. 65 pages of install instructions. Hey Toyota, stuck in traffic at high ambient is exactly when AC is most needed.

Not sure i am going to get this one myself, since I have an electric fan ready to install, and delete the stock one. would be easy to make it run constant with AC compressor.

You want to hit that nhtsa.gov link and look at the MCs. They have all TSBs for your MY.

@tonered Yes, excellent link advice. I think i looked at every one, all 108 of them, though many are repeats.

i also played with Techstream last night, managed to turn off the seat-belt chime for the p-seat. i put my briefcase there, and will no longer need the seat-belt. Also love that I could program the CAS to remember my prev. settings!

i downloaded 04B82, but could not figure out how to open it or install it. then spent an hour back on TW, and I think I have it now. seems i had to identify the exe file for Techstream, and have the tune file open with Techstream. I will attempt install again tonight.

This is really fantastic, thank you to ALL whom share the knowledge here! I so prefer to do everything myself, and this is one more thing that i do not need the dealer for.

Great to hear. Sorry that the TSB you needed wasn't there.

I recall the file association not be set was an issue in the past. In just a bit, I will find the location of the TS Update Wizard. You can point Windows to there.

I will see if I can find the number for it and reply back. I probably still have the Toyota paperwork for it and will have the part number - which is really all you need - but be sure to check for model year on that as they may have revised again.

If you need to set the file association, the CUW Wizard EXE file is here:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Toyota Diagnostics\Calibration Update Wizar\CUW.exe

okay - it was a recall so likely your truck did not fall into the category. But part number is 90919-05098 - Crankshaft Position Sensor. GL.

@tonered So no success. so I dug into explorer and I have the folder"Calibration Update Wizard" but there is not any Ex file in it nor a CUW.

When i connect to the ODB2, it does not read anything until/unless I turn on the ignition. the cheater on the ECU string, indicates to connect without the key in the ignition, so I have tried without; but it does not pull nay info from teh ECU till I turn on the ign. Is this correct? This is how I changed dealer settings yesterday, with ign on.

even with Ign on, it pops a window of quesitons, and I input choices of Smart keyless entry, and Radar Cruise control. (with ignition off, there are about 4 additional questions).

I also have VF tuner, is it simpler or less error prone to update the ECU thru that? I would need to dig up instructions for that one too, since I think I only connected once, to read ECM version.

You likely have the file extensions hidden. It is a dumb default in Windows.

Yes. Always Ignition On without the engine running.

You can get to the ECU Update from without a TS connection, but I don't remember how.

Once the file association is set, just double clicking on the CUW file will launch the Wizard and the update process.

The Updater is not live in vF yet. It is supposed to be tomorrow. I plan on test driving that feature this weekend.

finally have the ECU update working with Techstream. That CUW file just didn't exist within the update folder, so i uninstalled Techstream, re-downloaded, fought with getting it registers (but was me making stupid errors), and now have the CUW.exe available. double click the update and it opens Techstream with a window that appears to want to connect to the truck. I will get this installed tomorrow.

hope i have all my dumb mistakes used up for while, this has been painful. Thanks for the help!

Still feeling a little inadequate and needy here.

I successfully flashed to 04b82, so that's good. But I could not find how to reset LV or DTC. (found AT easily). So what is LV (learned values?) and where do I find that in Techstream? Also the button on the bottom, if hovered over says DTC's so if that takes care of teh DTC portion, then does it matter what is highlighted when I press that button?

The AT was clear, on the powertrain tab, transmission, then it clearly had a reset memory, and that seemed on target, but no idea where LV is if is different from AT memory.

Appreciate all of you knowledgeable persons, so willing to share and help!!
