I wish I would have gotten the VIN when I was there before; VIN not listed on website tells me that it has a salvage title...

This 2005 SR5 V8 was located at a dealership directly across Route 309 that I thought was a separate dealer, but according to the website, is part of the place selling the 3rd Gen seen above; The two front tires are flat, the inspection stickers expired in June 2021, and while it was in better shape than the 3rd Gen it didn't give the impression of having been well-maintained. Why would 4th Gen 4Runner with the V8 engine languish on a used car lot long enough for the tires to lose air and the inspection stickers to expire, in today's insane used market?!?!

In addition to the expired inspection stickers, note the rust on the A-pillar...

If I had a totaled 4th Gen V8 4Runner that had been mint prior to the accident, this one would be perfect dropping the engine from the totaled one into!

did 4th Gen T4Rs ever qualify for a frame replacement, or was that only 3rd Gens? One of the mechanics who works for Pete has a 2007 Sequoia that got a new frame from Toyota at no cost to him, and I know they were replacing frames on 1st Gen Tundras too, but apparently 2nd and 3rd (2.5th) Gen Tundras never got frame replacements...?

My dad is on a business trip in Orlando and flew into Jacksonville International, where he got this as a rental; I didn't know they offered T4Rs for rent, and I certainly wouldn't have expected them to have a TRD Off-Road!

It is a 4WD and not registered in Florida, so I'm thinking someone drove it from further North...

My dad loves Toyota, but he didn't really like the 2nd Gen Sequoia and ended up buying a CPO 2018 Yukon about four years ago with like 8,200 miles. He told me on the phone that the T4R felt underpowered, and asked me what engine it has. I told him "4.0L V6 with about 236hp" and he attributed his feelings to having driven a V8 for almost four years; Overall, his opinion of the T4R is good.

Interesting as a rental, probably not very common.

FYI: if you rent through dollar rent a car, you get to choose whatever car/truck/suv is depending on section location and they are all priced the same.

Hertz rents 4Runners and then re-sells them in their used car lots.

I'm just surprised it was a TRD OR and not an SR5...
