Afternoon Maryland. I’m rarely on the forum these days, but I figured this would be a good place to start. I put some new coops on the truck and have one of those stock wrangler tires that come with the OR up for grabs if anyone wants it.free. It was the spare and never used. 265/70/16

I’ll post it up in the New England but/sell/trade in a few days if not takers. I’m trying to avoid a bunch of emails from somebody in Rhode Island trying to get me to mail it. Haha. I’m in Baltimore. Thanks

I saw that! If I hadn’t just spent money on those sliders I would have been very tempted. I looked at their website and the price he’s asking is like $250 off. Crazy deal.

Looking for hints/tips about life in the Republic...

1 - How frustrated will I be on the highways? That is to ask - how good are all y'all about staying in the right-most lane except while passing?
2 - Do y'all nod/say hi, etc, to strangers passing on a sidewalk, etc?
3 - Why did the Ravens break Earl Thomas? He was so good in Seattle, until he started flipping his coach the bird.
4 - Is there a good reason to go to Baltimore proper?
5 - Lots of places with heating oil; holy shit that looks expensive - google shows about $5/gallon some times, and a 275 tank lasts, in the winter, like 6 weeks? Seriously? With how much fever should I avoid buying a house using oil heat?
6 - Anyone recommend a good Toyota and/or BMW service/repair shop within / around Aberdeen-Elkton region?

1. Very, traffic sucks lol. Lots of accidents ALL THE TIME. People have. No idea how to drive. Check out google maps and traffic view during times you think you’d be driving. That said, there are back ways to pretty much everywhere.
2. You can but I mostly avoid eye contact and acknowledgement with others.
3. The ravens take players at the end/past their prime and ruin them… just what they do
4. Not really… but there is a little Italy down there with great food and a few other restaurants but most can be found elsewhere. The stadiums are there too.
5. Can’t help you there…
6. I take my truck and wife’s car to Jones Junction in Bel Air/Fallston. They will try to oversell somethings and the service people don’t always know what they are taking about, just read the screen and offer services. The Toyota shop does have a few great advisors though, one was able to dial in an alignment not with Toyota specs and also had no issues with putting a coil over together, they were the only shop willing at a decent price.
I’m in the Bel Air area.

2 last things… maybe a little self promotion but my wife works for a real estate agent, if you need one…

This place is a lot different than OKC, well at least the part of OKC I’ve seen. Lots of fishing opportunities here.
I used to travel out there for training quite often but with the pandemic and my position change I don’t go there often anymore.

 

I'll tell anyone, OKC may be the best-kept secret in the mid west West. I really enjoy the town and might retire in this area. That said, I've not yet lived up in the Northeast, so I look forward to exploring. I hope to take advantage of the outdoors up there; I haven't fished much, but I've done some duck and deer hunting.

I can help you on the heating oil one. Yes, the last time I got oil it was $4.69 a gallon (I live so close to the MD line prices are comparable). I generally run through a 1/4 tank a month on my boiler, but we keep the thermostats around 65°. It's a smaller house so your mileage may vary. It was also doing double duty as serving my hot water needs, which it no longer will. You have to pick your poison as an all electric house will be expensive to run as a house with propane. If you luck upon a house with natural gas it'll be cheaper, but those houses are typically in town/cities so it may not be what you want.
